Re: QOTD 10/17

  • Um, the question for me should be "Have you ever NOT woken up late for work?" haha!  I am a horrible morning person and I wake up later than I need to just about every morning.  My work environment is pretty relaxed and since it's a family business, it's never been an issue if I'm running a little behind.  I may or may not take full advantage of that...  ;))

  • Once when I was 18 my supervisor woke me up with a call at 11AM.  When I got to work she had told the whole department and they were all laughing and teasing me.  She thought it was the funniest thing ever.

  • Rarely, but it's ironic that today I tried to extend me alarm by 10 mins and woke up at 7:30! Turns out I accidentally changed the time, so I was only 15 mins late.

  • My bioclock wakes me up even if I accidently turn off my alarm.  And usually if I don't text H by 530am he'll call me.

  • A few times, but they were always for later shifts..like 10 or 11.  I always managed to be on time for 6 am shifts though..haha

  • I haven't in years. I did when I was in college, but I wasn't sleeping much those days in general, so I took what I could get. Now that I have to be a responsible adult, I'm usually up before my alarm.

  • Not often anymore. It's only happened once in the past year. I had trouble when I was student teaching, so I finally installed an alarm on my phone where I have to do addition problems to dismiss the alarm...

  • I once woke up at 7:40 and I had a meeting at 8.  I only lived about 10 minutes from work.  I showered quickly and made it to work by 8:15.  My boss was mad because the meeting was with someone she brought it, but it was the only time that ever happened.

I am usually about 30-45 minutes early for work.
  • Technically I have no set time to get in so I'm not late but I have slept longer than I wanted a few mornings because I didn't want to get up. On a few occasions I have hit the off button instead of snooze and slept an extra 30 mins. The only person who is upset is me. Unless I'm super late (3 hours), then my supervisor will be concerned and call but typically I'm in before everyone so they call me if they are going to be late.

  • I have a few times but not in forever. It helps that I work nights. I swear my internal clock doesn't work for waking up for day shift but I'm good for nights! Most of the time I don't even set an alarm. I did oversleep once for an 11pm shift. That was embarrassing! I fell asleep at 1pm and slept through my alarm! Woke up at exactly 11!
  • Definitely. It's happened a few times at my current job and they've always been understanding. I don't think I was ever more than 30 minutes late, which is impressive since it takes me 25 minutes to get to work ;)
