Re: 3T Check-In

  • No real updates, just rambling. Asked DH over the weekend what he thought of seeing a urologist, and his response was basically that he hadn't thought about it. I'll ask him again now that he's had a few days to let it bounce around in his head.

I never heard back from our insurance customer care rep/whoever it was that was supposed to contact me. So I guess I'll just call the regular customer service number and start asking about test coverage. And then look into finding an RE to run some tests on me, since all I've had was the HSG.

Opinions needed: I have a solid hour-long commute to/from work because I take the train. I'm sort of limited in my travel arrangements during the workday because I'm reliant on the train schedule. Considering the commute time into the city/back home, would you want to find an RE near where you live, or near where you work? My office is very close to a fantastic hospital that seems to have quite a few RE offices. The only downside I can really see to having my RE in the city would be traveling down on weekends when/if something needed to be done then. Otherwise, appts during the week could be done early in the morning with plenty of time for me to get to work on time (or be able to go at lunchtime and return).

QOTW: Superpower: I've always been torn between flying and telekinesis. Either one would be so cool to be able to do!! Screw taking the train, I'll just fly to work. Oops, I left my drink sitting on the kitchen counter and now I'm curled up on the couch; I'll just use my brain to bring my drink to me! Hahaha.

    (Sorry this got so long!!!)

  • Aside from while I was pregnant and after birth, this is the first TTC break I've taken. I LOVE it. If we didn't have those three embies frozen, I'd be ready to be done. I'm beginning to feel like we will be ok. I feel like I'm giving up, but I'm ok with it.

Of course, I hope the next FET works. But I'm prepared.

I wish I could be invisible.

  • Considering the commute time into the city/back home, would you want to find an RE near where you live, or near where you work?

Id go closer to work. You (I assume) work there 5 days a week and are home 2. The likelihood of an appointment falling during the week is greater. Inevitably there will be weekend appointments, but hopefully fewer. Plus I really like being close to work in order to take as little time off as possible. I usually tried to schedule monitoring for before work, but things like HSG, SHG, and IUI always seemed to be mid afternoon appointments.

  • Hi Ladies-  Mind if I join you?
H and I have been TTC since May of 2012.  I'm turning 35 next month, and he's turning 33 in Dec. As I posted earlier today, I finally made an appt with an RE.  It's a relief, and scary, and certainly helped me deal with CD1 today.

  • hugs @looneylife. Take it easy today dear. Glad you get to go back to work but sorry the timing is kind of sucky.

@Iloveredvino I think I understand a little where you're coming from. It's been a while since I felt as happy as I do now that we're not TTC. I also feel like I'm giving up sometimes, but then I look at how much happier we are and it all seems worth it. ((Hugs)) Best of luck with your FET later.

I wish I could read minds.

  • @Looneylife, thanks for your thoughts on where to go. Adding to the complication is that I was approved (literally told today) to work from home 2 days per week starting after the new year (my decision to start then rather than earlier because of spending accounts already in effect). No guarantees appts would/could fall on my work from home days, though, so it might still be better to find a place in the city!

Also, ((hugs)). Today could not have been easy, even knowing what was coming.

  • Update: Just waiting on AF. I'm on CD 21, so she could be dropping her bags any day now. When she comes, we'll officially be starting our IVF cycle 21 days later! Holy shit! Oh, and I'm on my way out the door to go to my first acupuncture appointment! I don't do math, but I figure that if the success rate for my clinic is 37.5% for <35, and I'm not even 30 yet, plus acupuncture, I'm giving myself a pretty good shot at this IVF thing.

@LooneyLife - so many hugs and so much love going your way.

  • Lucky - I'd probably choose an RE near work for all the reasons stated above. Are there any RE's with multiple offices that might be close to both work and home? Just a long shot there. My RE has a couple offices so it makes it easier to schedule appointments here and there.

    Looney - (((hugs))

Dangermuffin - I'm glad your DH took it ok. That's never an easy conversation

    GL to Poppies and rccola!

Update: nada. I'm temping again and paying attention to EVERYTHING, but I'm not that hopeful. We'll see. I'm only at CD30 right now, so I could easily have another couple weeks before anything happens (if at all).

QOTW: I've always said I'd choose the power to heal people.

FFC: I drank a Dr. Pepper for breakfast. I slept in WAY too late to eat anything decent so I shall feel like crap the rest of the day now.

In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!
