Do you have to dress up for work?  Do you have casual Friday?

Re: QOTD 10/18

  • I dress up more than everyone else, to try to look older.  I'm 5'0" and younger than everyone here by around 20 years.  I'm the in-house counsel and I don't want to look like a little kid!  They joke that they are old enough to be my parents, so I try not to wear jeans too often, even though most people do.

It's super casual though, sometimes a little too casual...lol

  • We don't have a dress code but I dress professionally mon-thurs and then Friday ill wear jeans with a nice shirt or a school pride shirt depending if there is a game that night!

  • A lot of people wear stuff that looks like pajamas around here.  Whenever big-wigs come in they warn us all that we have to dress business casual.  I don't really like jeans, so most of the time I look dressed up because I wear black pants 99% of the time.  Of course today I'm wearing them with dirty tennis shoes and a Hunger Games t-shirt.
  • We are pretty causal here.  I mainly wear jeans or khakis, and nice tops, sweaters.  I sometimes dress down on Fridays like today.  I'm wearing jeans, sandals and a work t-shirt. I sit in my cube hole and no one sees me...

  • Our office is business professional. We are required to have a suit jacket with us at all times. Fridays are business casual, when we can wear khakis and a nice top.

  • There's no real dress code since I work in academia.  On Mondays, I  have meetings with people from outside of my university, so I usually dress business casual on Mondays.  But the rest of the week I wear jeans.

  • I work in a chemical plant, so it's very casual around here.  Jeans are the norm, so I normally wear jeans and a cute top.  I try to dress it up a bit.  I also like to wear nice slacks and heels.  I probably dress up more than most.

  • Yep, but my new work is much more relaxed about dress attire m-th.

  • I wear scrubs. I hate scrub tops so I usually wear a plain or striped shirt with my pants. I have some children's hospital long sleeve tee shirts as well. Anything to not wear a scrub too!
  • We are very casual, almost too casual.  Everyone wears jeans or shorts with t shirts mostly.  My hubby and my mom like to wear work out style clothes which I am not a fan of.  We have walk in clients and I don't think it presents well.

  • Nope! I'm a work at home mom, I run my own business so PJs are allowed :p
  • I don't have a dress code at all, which I disagree with.  It's actually in my contract that we cannot be told what to wear.  I believe that if I'm dressed professionally, my students are more focused.  I wear slacks everyday, or a dress or skirt.  I wear shoes most days.  Fridays, I usually wear nice sneakers.  I am one of the only people who do not wear jeans ever.  There are like 2 other people at work like that.  Some of my coworkers I feel dress too casual/inappropriate.
  • M-Th I wear skirts/dresses or black pants. I try and keep it comfortable, but professional. Fridays I usually wear jeans and a nice top. Today was the exception because we were supposed to wear red, so I wore a plain red t-shirt. A lot of co-workers wear college football t-shirts on Friday, but I can't bring myself to do the t-shirt thing, so I wear a nice top.

  • We are business casual M-Th and then dress down Friday.  I usually wear black pants and a nice shirt M-Th.  Fridays are jeans with a less dressy shirt.  Today I actually have on a plain colored tshirt with an UnderArmor sweatshirt.

  • At clinical placement we vary between scrubs and business casual, depending on where placement is. At work, the day staff are supposed to wear business casual, but it is most definitely not enforced. People come in in sweats all the time *eye roll* I work evenings and weekends, so we can wear anything we want, except pajamas. I tend to wear yoga pants or jeans most of the time.
