I volunteered to make cookies for care packages that my church will be sending off to our college kids. This is the third year that I've done this and I need a new idea as to what to make. The last two years I made peanut butter & jelly cookies (peanut butter thumbprints but instead of a chocolate kiss, I put jelly in the middle). I'd rather not make chocolate chip just because I know other people will but I need something not terribly complicated that I can make a large batch of. So far I have come up with snickerdoodles. Got any other ideas for me? This is probably right up your alley Booney.
Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

Re: NBR: Cookies
I have no idea what these are called and have actually never made them myself, but they are awesome. My coworker's wife made them and he brought them in. I may or may not have eaten at least 3 of them. The Heath chips are my weakness.
Cream: 2 cups brown sugar, one cup shortening
Add: 2 eggs (beaten), 2 tsp vanilla, 2 cups flour sifted with 1 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp salt
Add 3 cups quick Quaker oats, beat until mixed, add heath chips to taste<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Form dough into balls, roll in sugar and put on greased cookie sheet.
Bake for approx 12 min @ 375 degrees.

I can't have them anymore, but Frostbite cookies!!! Oh my god, so yummy. I'm actually going to be experimenting on a gluten free version and trying to find the elusive soy free white chocolate, but everyone else, make them!

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

I love no bake cookies when needing large batches of something. I use this recipe but use butter instead of margarine and 1/3 c cocoa powder instead of 1/4.

Easy Monster cookies.
Yes, I admit to being a Betty Crocker gal, but my family LOVED the first one and DH loved the second one.
