Upset- 1hr glucose related
So, 4 weeks ago I had my 1 hour glucose test. I thought it had gone well. The nurse told me that they would call me in 2-3 days if anything was up and if I didn't hear anything back, it would mean that everything was fine. Well I go in for a 4 week appointment and my doctor looks at me and says "Have you done your 3 hour glucose test yet?" and I was like "Do what? I didnt think I had to do that?" She looked through my chart and said "well your 1 hour was abnormal, I thought the nurse called you". No the nurse did not call me. No I was not aware that there was a problem, and that was FOUR weeks ago. So now I have to go in on Friday for a 3 hour glucose test. I'm so frustrated. I know that failing the 1 hour is not a huge deal and plenty of people pass the 3 hour. I also know that mine was on the low side of the too high range. What upsets me is that they didnt call and no one let me know that something was wrong. Now 4 weeks later I have to get another test, miss a day of work (without pay since it is a workday I will have to take an unpaid leave day...) and on top of that I am exhausted and a little emotional. I just want to go crawl in a hole and come out in December... ugghhhh
Oh and I stepped in a huge wad of gum in the parking lot as I was getting out of my car at the grocery store! YUCK!

I hate when Dr.'s offices communicating skills suck. Mine is kind of like that, I literally have to make them go over results with me because they have no intentions to. Sorry they left you in the dark like that, I know it's frustrating.
