What are you reading?  Is it any good?

Do you think that you are going to reach your reading goal for the year?

Re: Book Club Monday

  • I am rereading Divergent - Still AMAZING the second time around, but I'm going to stop tomorrow to dive into Alligiant!!!!

Listening to FaeFever (Fever#3)- OMG it's getting good, and it's going to end soon!  MUST GET NEXT BOOK!  I have a feeling this will be a cliff hanger.

I'm 2 books ahead of my goal, I should make it!

I've got 100 pages left of rereading Insurgent.  I actually like it better the second time around.  The first time their fighting got on my nerves.  I think my memory made it worse than it actually is.  I have to whole day off tomorrow to pick up and read Allegiant.  I'm really excited about it!!

After that I have a stack of books and a bunch of unread titles on my Kindle.  I shouldn't have to buy a new book for a while.  I picked up the first book of The Seven Realms series at half priced books.  I know a lot of people liked it on NBC.  I'm excited to start it, but I only have the first book...

Edit:  As for my goal after my Insurgent reread I will have 10 to goal.  I was like 9 books ahead all year and then summer hit, I never had any time, and now I'm on track to goal.  I think I'll make it though.  It might be close...

  • I am reading The Secret Life of Bees.  I am only about 3 pages in.  I haven't been reading lately since I have been playing Pokemon to be honest.  Does the Pokemon guidebook count as reading a book?  lol

As for my goal, I am not sure if I am going to make it.  I have 7 left to read by the end of the year and I think that it is going to be a stretch.  If we start going back to the gym, I may switch audiobooks and that would help.  A Clash of Kings is on it now and that book takes forever to listen to.

  • I read The Fault in Our Stars. I liked it well enough, but I was expecting it to make me bawl, and it didn't. (I promise, I'm not heartless!!!) I also read Ali's Pretty Little Lies by Sara Shepard and I'm now reading Pretty Little Secrets, also by Sara Shepard. I'm stoked for Allegiant tomorrow!! I also really want to read the second book in the Thoughtless series by S.C. Stephens.

I've been making some time to read lately. I don't think I'm going to make my goal :( I'm 5 books behind. My goal was 110. I'm at 83. We'll see, but unless I read some really short books, I can't see it happening!

  • I've never been a big reader, but I want to get more into it.  Would y'all recommend I start with The Hunger Games trilogy or the Divergent trilogy?

  • I'm reading Burned by Thomas Enger. It's along the same lines as The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. I like it so far.

I want to say Divergent since I felt the HGs book went from AWESOME to good to meh... I'll let you know my opinion of Divergent's third book soon (it comes out tomorrow... I have it preordered).

  • I didn't get much reading done this weekend. I am reading Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson (the Blogess). It is funny but hard to read. Since I read so much fiction, I read for dialogue and I am having a hard time reading all the content in this. But, it is really funny.

I second Mana, I have loved the Divergent series so far. The Hunger Games is good though too. I don't think you would make a bad choice with either series.

Divergent. I love Hunger Games and definitely think you should read it, but between the two, I'd definitely vote Divergent.

I took tomorrow off to read the thirdDivergent book.  I did not do that for Hunger Games.  I loved both series, and I really don't want to recommend Divergent before I read book 3, but so far it is the series that I liked better.  I mean jeepers, my husband is jealous of Four at this point...
