QOTD 10/21

It's 10 days until Halloween so I want to know the following:

  1. Do you hand out candy? If so, what kind?
  2. Do you get alot of trick-or-treaters?
  3. Do you dress up to hand out candy?  If so, what are you going to be?

Re: QOTD 10/21

  • I've never gotten to hand out candy.  Last year we were on our honeymoon.  I'm really excited and will hand it out this year for sure!  I've been buying bags of mixed candy all month as I see them on sale.  The problem is I got too much stuff that DH and I like.  I think we are just getting fat at this point.

I had someone house sit and hand out candy.  She said she went through like 5 giant bags of candy.  She said we had a ton of trick-or-treaters.  There are a ton of kids in the neighborhood so that doesn't really surprise me.

DH bought a Biohazard costume and we have some things at home to make me look Biohazard.  I have a bunch of costumes from my early 20s, but I don't really want to hand out candy to children in skanky costumes.  Lol!

    1. Do you hand out candy? If so, what kind? Yes, we got an assortment yesterday (sour patch kids, hersheys, twix, reeses, etc).
    2. Do you get alot of trick-or-treaters? We get a good amount being a subdivision with houses close together, and short drive ways.  We have a lot of neighborhood kids, and now random people come.
    3. Do you dress up to hand out candy? If so, what are you going to be? No, I'm usually bundled up.  But I dress my pup up.  He's been a pumpkin for 2 years, I think we need to get him another custome!

He loves halloween because Kids come to him!  He waits by the door all night for more kids.

  • 1.  Yes, I like to hand out the classics (mini snickers, hershey bars, etc.)
    2.  No :( That is the ONLY thing I don't like about living in a rural area.
    3.  I usually put on something, even if it's just cat ears or a Halloween t shirt or something.

1-is it bad I sit in my house in the dark and pray no one rings the doorbell! 2- we don't get any trick or treaters so I guess #1 isn't so bad, right? 3-n/a DD is too young to go trick or treating but I will dress her up and take pics!

  • 1) This will be our third Halloween in our house, but it will be the first that we'll actually be home.  First year, we were on a cruise, and last year, we were on our honeymoon.  This year, we will have my stepdaughters so we are taking them trick or treating and won't be able to hand out candy.

    2) I'm thinking about leaving a bowl of candy out for the kids that come by.  We have a good amount of kids in our neighborhood.

    3) If we were staying home to hand out candy, I'd probably dress up.  I'd at least dress up our pup.

  • 1. We bought twix, snickers, and 3 musketeers. I think we need a little more because we've been snacking on them...
    2. We'll see! We just moved in a few weeks ago. There are definitely kids in our neighborhood, but it isn't a big neighborhood. We're really close to H's parents subdivision, and they have tons of kids, so I'm wondering if they'll trick-or-treat here or go to a nearby place with more options.
    3. Probably not. But I have a Halloween shirt that says "Little Miss Sweet Tooth" that I'll probably wear.

  • 1) As a kid I loved chips, so that's probably what I will hand out.

    2) this is our 2nd halloween in our house, but last year I was working and H was next door at his parents house. So no candy was given out :(

    3) I probably won't dress up.

  • We will pass out candy of some sort , probably whatever sounds good that day when I stop on the way home. I have no idea how many kids to expect. We moved in last December but there are tons of kids in our neighborhood. We don't dress up but plan to dress up the dog.

  • 1.  I don't hand out candy because we live down the driveway.  No one knows to come visit us :(  We even carve pumpkins that only us, my parents, my brother and SIL and any friends who visit get to see.  I usually hang out in my parents house and hand out their candy.  I love seeing all the cute kids excited for candy.

    2.  I request every year that my mom doesn't hand out anything I like.  Unfortunately, that would only leave Almond Joy, Mounds, Mike & Ike, and a few other random things.  She ignores me and I eat most of the candy that she buys...

    3.  We get a decent amount of kids.  My mom is the principal of the elementary school in our neighborhood and the kids know she lives here.  I would say at least 50 kids from her school stop by to see her every year.  It's cute when I answer the door and they're like, "Oh no!  Is Mrs. Principal home?"
  • We don't hand out candy. We live in a neighborhood where our neighbors turn off their lights and no one comes trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. If we did, I wouldn't dress up. I'm not a fan of Halloween.
  • Not sure if we're handing out candy this year. Since we only moved to the neighborhood in February, I'm not sure how many/if there are any kids in the area. Last year while living with my in laws, we did hand out treats. I just remember it was weird because it was bright daylight out and kids were trick or treating. (They rescheduled halloween in the neighborhood last year due to some crazy snow storms)

Tough to tell for this year. Last year didn't seem too busy kid wise. But I think I might have been biased on that since I grew up in the city and am used to tons of kids going through the area.

Probably won't this year if we actually do hand out stuff. Last year, I dressed up as a mime and my husband went as a lumberjack since it allowed him to keep his beard for a costume.

  • We will have candy on hand incase we get some Trick or treaters. We moved here last November so we haven't been through a Halloween here yet. I had my husband as the neighbors if we get a lot of kids in the area and she said last year they had 1! We live in a community and they do a "Trunk & Treat" at there main community center so that probably keeps the parents from coming around house to house .
