Re: I am such a procrastinator!!!

  • Are you using shutterfly or something like that to make a photo book?

  • I wish it was shutterfly. It actually is a nice flushmount album from the photographer.  But the way he has me set it up is just not good.  I can't see how the pics look.  I just have to guess, I get 4 pics max to a page, and just have to pick them by numbers. I guess hope for the best.

Shutter fly would be sooo much easier!  Lol At least there I could see how it looks instead of not havin a clue...  I am totally stuck, and now I have too many pics I do like to put into the book...  Ahhhhhhh

  • It's been over two years and we still haven't done a wedding book. We used freelance photographers and they gave us a hard drive with all of our images. I don't feel like I need one, though.

Well, my H is making me do this... Lol, he said, we paid for it so he wants it.  Grrrr, just too much work.  I wish I could just pick my photos and he could figure the rest out....

It feels soooo great knowing I am not the only one!!!  ;)

  • This post is so informative for me at the moment. My photographer will do an album (for an extra charge, of course) and I am wondering if I need it, or if I can do it on shutterfly. She is going to give us a CD and a copywright release so I can print the pictures that I want. But I also wonder would I want an album, etc.

  • I did mine on shutterfly (our photographer lived in Ireland where we eloped). I think that was totally fine. And I got to make it exactly how I wanted it and it didn't cost an arm and a leg

  • I hear ya!  We just got 2,500 pictures back from our photographer and we get/have to pick 700 (!!!) for her to edit and send us prints of.  She got some great shots and there will be plenty to put in the album, but I don't know if we'll ever be able to pick 700. Who needs 700 pictures anyway?!  I never wanted a traditional album; I always pictured more of  a coffee table book, so we'll make our own. I'm glad we'll be able to put as many we want in the album, but I'm not at all looking forward to putting it together.  The one good thing about getting so many pictures is we can make albums for our parents with more family pictures that we might not want in our own album and there were a lot of good shots of some our couple friends, so we'll get those and give them to our friends.

  • Even if your photographer is no longer working in the field, he/she should work with you to fulfill your contract. If that means coordinating with you on creation of an album, press them to do it!

Our photographer is located a couple of hours away from us. After the wedding, we did everything online. It worked great, because we were able to tell him what pictures we wanted in our album, he laid it all out, and then we got to check it out online to tweak the layout/coloration/etc.

There is no way I would ever accept something as important as a wedding album being laid out without my knowledge of where/how things were going until the final product landed on my doorstep. Talk to your photographer about it and let it be known you need to see some sort of draft before the final product is printed.

If I were you I would avoid the photog album and just do it yourself.  We had the same option and opted to put it together ourselves after from the CD and it worked out great.  And you can do it on your own time whenever you want to.

Do you scrapbook? We also got the copyright release for our photos, I've loved being able to arrange them how I want and put in other little things (our cake topper, notes from friends and family, etc.)

Cloudy, it's so hard to choose photos! How many do you get to put in the book? How many did the photographer take?

I really was excited about the book being included with our package, but I honestly think like a  shutterfly album or something would be a lot easier.  As long as you get the cd and can make your own, I would go with that.  I definitely know I WANT an album, but I don't wanna do the work.  Lol

Ours is a coffee table book.  I think its made with something not paper. I don't remember exactly. Lol  We have the cd, so I think I will end up making a small album for our parents too.  I have just been such a lagger...  :)

He is fulfilling the contract.  Just the way of putting together this album is just not simple, to me.  I wont be able to  SEE the layout before, I just have to go with it.  He knows I am unhappy with him, so I honestly don't think he wants to do anything extra for me. I wish I could just pick out a bunch of photos and he would put it together....  Lol

It is super hard to choose photos!!!!  I swear, I worked on it all day and still...  We get 20 pages, like 4 pics per page....  He took over 1000.  I went thru them and picked out my favs, lol too many!!!! SO I'm back at the start again..  I know I will be happy once I'm all done, just don't wanna do the work.. ;)
