How to deal with an arrogant, condescending, jerky coworker

To put it in perspective if my boss said "you and **** have to work side by side for the next year" Id QUIT!  This woman is so arrogant and condescending it is unreal.  She is old enough to be my mother and today made some comment about people "my age" in a really snotty context.  This is mostly a vent b/c I had a 40 minute meeting with her that made my blood boil.  I hate when people are so full of themselves they get in the way of actually working collaboratively towards the goal.  She was too busy telling me about all of her accomplishments and trying to school me on things that we barely even talked about the project.  I know I sound like a cry baby but sometimes you just want to scream!  THANK GOD ITS FRIDAY. Cheers to the weekend everyone!  ugh!

Look i understand what you might be going through,But sometimes we need to deal with this jerks daily because we cant avoid them as we have a family to feed or not easy to switch also because of such pressure people often leave their jobs,,Look try  avoid her whenever you not talking work or having lunch or meeting outside,Try to do some facial expressions that might come out such that she understands what that means,,,Always avoid her when not discussing work.Be focused on your goals about where you want to reach  and consider her a distraction that is avoiding you to reach that goal of yours. And one day you will reach a such a high position that jerks wont be a problem to you .
  • I totally understand how frustrating that can be, and that is exactly how people become disengaged. Unfortunately people like this are probably everywhere, I know I work with one and that person isn't even as great at they like to think they are. Good luck!
