Re: WTF Wednesday

  • WTF work - Usually we shutdown over Christmas, that's all fine and good, use 4 days of leave with 2 holidays.  NOW you want to shutdown for both weeks?!  That's 8 days of leave!  That takes 22 weeks to accrue!  REALLY?!  Now I don't have enough for ML until May, so heaven forbid I need to take off for any other reason... Please stop screwing us over... this is why I'm half empty with work.

  • Dear neighbors,

Yesterday was October 22, not July 4. Why on God's green earth were you shooting off fireworks at 10:00 last night? You woke up a cranky pregnant woman and a scared the dog so much she couldn't stop shaking :(.

    Yours truly,

The neighbors who called the police on you

Do you have the option to take unpaid?? If you can spring it financially that it what I used to do. My pto is too damn previous to waste half of it in Dec!!

  • WTF Minnesota?!  Snow in May and October this year?  Only 4 months of no snow in 2013?  That's a bunch of crap!
  • I have two...

WTF arrogant coworker.  I wish I was unprofessional enough to say all of the things that I think of you to your face.  I would just love to really tell you I think you are the worst teacher ever.

WTF housing market in my area.  Why can't one good house that I want to live in that I can afford come along so H and I can move out of the basement?  And without a bidding war would be lovely.
  • @lwoehlk - We can, but after 80 hours it starts to affect our benefits, like retirement, health insurance and accrueing more leave. And with furloughs we are already at 48 hours towards that. Who knows what January will bring when the gov't needs to get another budget... so better keep that in my back pocket. Thankfully, I did talk to the guy I kind work for (not my boss, it's confusing) and he thinks we will get special permission to work. So I can come in for 4 of those days as planned. WOOHOO!

  • I'm going to add another one, even though it is Thursday!

WTF library? You have yet to distribute any of the copies of Allegiant! I know I bought the Kindle version, but I never canceled my hold at the library. Ugh, it has been out for two days and it is still "in transit" to the branches. I'm sure the people who are tops on the list are even more pissed than me.

  • @mana8503 you may need to check but since they authorized the back pay for the furlough time your lwop time should reset to 0 for the fiscal year. That's what we were told.

  • @jwrenne - we won't get back pay for the scheduled furloughs this summer, 6 days worth. We are getting back pay for the emergency furloughs from the govt shutdown.
