  I am trying to change my siggy picture.  I can't do it.  WHY?

  
  

  I just changed some of my investments on my 403b.  I've worked here since 1998, and I've never changed anything.  I went to a meeting with the rep about 6 months ago, and he gave me advice, but I didn't do it.  Today, I finally did.  And I kind of feel empowered.  I just hope I made a good choice.   I lost boatloads of money in 2008 because I have it all in stocks - but I let it ride and now I have over the goal I set to be at by 40.   The rep suggested one of the funds that changes based on your age - which is good for me since I hadn't changed a thing in 15 years.  I put some in that and kept some in the stocks.  I feel like I diversified my portfolio!

  I am trying this "one pot wonder" thing I found on pinterest for dinner.  Apparently, you throw everything into a pot at once and it magically turns into chicken lo mein.  cross your fingers that it works.  If not, my family will be eating cheerios for dinner.

  Good for you Amber!  That should feel empowering!  I confess that I am horrible when it comes to our finances, and I really should be more involved, but I'm not.  Every time Rich has a conversation with me about it, my eyes start to glaze over and I am thinking about any other random topic pops into my head.  It's totally irresponsible of me, and I need to get more on top of it!!
  
  We have two Halloween parties this weekend.  I am going as Cat Woman and I bought a long dark wig for my costume.  I love it so much that I may or may not have worn it around the house a few times already just for fun.
  
  Is it me, or is this year going way too fast? I am baffled that November is just over a week away.

  I am pathetically friendless. I have a tons of acquaintances, but all my close friends have moved and I miss having a local BFF while raising my kids. Part of it is my fault, I don't make an effort. Part of me feels like I have turned into a social moron after having kids as I have put so much into them, I forget how to make new friends. Part of me just doesn't like my acquaintances enough to get closer. I also get annoyed easily with girls I know. All of it combined, makes me a lonely mom...sad!

  I'm kinda pissed our daycare canceled the field trip for today because of "cold temperatures."  I specifically requested off today and entered it months ago so I could go.  Um, don't schedule a field trip to the pumpkin patch for the end of October if you don't want cold temperatures.

  
  

  I admit that I was bad at our financial planning too so we definitely needed a financial planner help and found a great one through PNC Investments whose services were free as a PNC customer.  He helped tremendously in realigning our retirement plans.  I really want to maximize our financial planning this spring once we have the house straightened away but I don't want to commit too much $$ in the interim.

  I feel like I have friends, but sometimes I feel like I'm always the one initiating things.  Like if I never invited anyone anywhere, no one would ever just call me up and invite me to go.  Even my BFF, I love her dearly, but it's always ME that is reaching out and asking her to do something or get our kids together.  And FB just makes the problem worse because she'll post a picture from a concert or something and be with other friends, and I feel bad that she never asks me to do something with her.  So I understand where you're coming from.

  After 3 weeks of craziness, I finally have time to sit down and figure out our health benefits for next year, as we're going back to mine. And I'm completely confused and not wanting to wait for the Webex on Thursday to figure it out!

  Kudos to you, Amber, for figuring out finances! I handle all of them on our end, but it's all over my head; DH is much better with numbers. However, everything I do, I run by DH before I do it. DH goes and signs up for coverage at work without discussing it first; so aggravating!

  It's nice to be back home, but after yesterday (Sean at urgent care for a high fever and Conall puking in the car on the way home), I'm ready to go on another business trip. I was feeling recharged up until yesterday! LOL

  OMG, Clare... our benefits this year. What a huge adjustment.  Good luck with your decision, I kinda hate both options and sorta wish they would give me what they what to spend so I can just go buy some through the ACA website... sign me up for some of that socialized medicine. sheesh.

  I'm leaving for a long weekend in Floriday on Thursday and would like to just give up on work now.  I am slightly nervous about the flight alone with both kids but what can you do?  Hopefully Elsey will be in a good mood.
