I totally forgot to share this! Shame on me. I almost drove off the road laughing when she told me.
Madison was reading Stephen King's Carrie. With school she only had time to read here or there. She had finally gotten to the part where Carrie was getting ready for Prom
Madison: I was just getting in a couple of more pages before I went to sleep. So I get to the part where the mom keeps yelling at Carrie that she can see her dirty pillows. And I was so confused! I was like "this mom is crazy! Now's she upset over her bed?" So I close the book go to sleep.
Then I'm in school today and it finally clicked- the mom used that phrase at the beginning of the book too! She was talking about her boobs! I was so excited I figured it out I almost announced it out loud in class. That would have been embarrassing! Why would someone called boobs dirty pillows? So confusing!
Yeah- I may be the only one who finds this hysterical- but it cracked me up. Plus you had to hear her telling it. She was all exasperated that it took her a day to get what the mom was freaking out about.
I love my kid!
ETA: I am realizing that unless you have actually read Carrie this probably isn't funny at all. Junewhatevs!
For those that haven't- Carrie's mom is CRAZY and she freaks out at two points of the book because Carrie is getting her dirty pillows (her breasts)
Never mind- maybe this isn't even funny anymore :P
Re: How could I forget to share this? (we can call this Madison Monday)- maybe SMALL Carrie spoiler
