Have you gone/do you go to a chiropractor?
My company is having their annual health fair today. There are activities, massages, goody bags, and vendors who come to set up tables and pass out information/drum up business.
Well, a chiropractic firm is here today, and they had a fun little EMG tool to check how tense your neck and lower back muscles are based on spinal nerve condition (or something like that). I got checked out, and since I get migraines and my lower back tends to get rather stiff and sore when I have to stand for a while, I figured I'd set up an initial appt. It's in a couple of weeks, and I'm wondering what I'm getting into!

I couldn't stand someone else cracking my joints!
Re: Have you gone/do you go to a chiropractor?
i've never been but would love to have someone crack everything for me!
I have a friend that goes regularly and swears it makes her feel like a new person
The Rowdy Roberts
When I am having issues I go every two weeks, then maintain with once a month after that. I just feel so much better all the way around when I go. A lot of people dont believe in it, but for $5.60 a session, I figured why not. Now I am hooked.
I know people that go for treatment of migraines. My grandmother did. She refused to go for so long and finally after day 3 of a migrane she let my aunt take her and it cut the time and severity of the migranes down to maybe 1 every 3-4 months instead of 2 a month. She was even able to stop the meds she took to prevent them which she hated because it made her shakey.
YES!! I freaking adore the chiropractor... He's helped me with so much... back, SI joint, and neck (headaches). I almost always recommend chiro to people, but make sure you do some research on practices before you just go to anyone. I have noticed such a huge difference since I've been going.
I should add, the guy I see is out of network so insurance doesn't pay crap for it. I usually only go once every month or two, but I am willing to pay the $45 each visit because it does me that much good.

I have never been to one, but H has.
He used to go to a traditional chiropractor, and then started going to one that only re-aligns your neck. He said that this new one has made a huge difference, and they guarantee you only have to do 3 sessions to get straightened out. His insurance didn't cover this one, but he went the 3 times over a year ago and has said he doesn't need to go back yet.
He will more than likely need to go again when his neck gets out of alignment, but it's been worth it for him (He stands on his feet for 12 hrs/day and lifts 40-70lbs constantly).
