JCPenney Maternity

After @fallbride05 posted about her cute dress from JCPenney, I went on their website and looked at some of their clothes. They're pretty cute and reasonably priced.

Does anyone know if they run big, small, or true to size?  Unfortunately the nearest place to find maternity clothes is an hour away from me, and that JCPenney doesn't carry any (of course). So I would be strictly ordering them online.

Re: JCPenney Maternity

  • Yeah I had to order mine online and ship to our local store for pick up. I did notice free shipping on orders over $99 though! I've only bought the dress from them but thought it was too big at first. But then thought...As I go through these last 11 weeks I figure the belly is only going to get bigger so kept it instead of exchanging it for a size smaller. So my way long answer on the dress is I think it ran big.

  • I don't know about JCP, but order your typical size.  The belly of all maternity clothes will stretch to however big you get, but the arms, bust and length will be way too big if you order up.

  • I'm somewhat inbetween in sizes. So that's where I'm debating. Thankfully I have plenty of time to exchange them for a different size, but I'm ordering a bunch of items on clearance. So I don't want to order them too big or too small.

  • I bought thier maternity jeans and they didnt last very long. I think I got a hole in a month.

That's good to know.  I was reading reviews on some of the items, and they kept saying that the fabric was thin. So maybe I'll just order the few items on clearance, then go elsewhere for jeans and dress pants.

  • I think in general, JCPenney merchandise is very cheaply made. I don't know how many purses I bought from there that ended up breaking within a month or two of using them. I'll probably be buying most of my clothes from JCP since they are reasonably priced but that doesn't mean I won't be shopping around at other places too!

  • I have no experience with JCP maternity but I wanted to respond to the cheaply made comment and just say that I have had really good experiences with buying baby clothes from them. I totally agree about the purses though.

Their okee dokee brand stuff is awesome and holds up well as well as other stuff they have there :) plus they have some of the bestsales and cclearance items for baby clothes and shoes!

  • I have a few maternity items from JCP and they ran true to size for me. I have a pair of jeans that I wore from about 17 weeks on and they held up well. And the dress shirts I got from them were very well made.
