The weather is finally starting to take a turn to seasonable here and I just really want to hunker in this weekend. I'm also craving a good soup/stew. I have a few in rotation, but they are getting boring. I would prefer something on the healthier side, but more I'm just not looking for something UNhealthy. Bonus points for anything that has veggie/meat chunks so I can give something to Wes too. I love beef stews, but my crock pot burns the shit out of everything (do NOT buy
this crockpot, whatever you do) so it would have to be stove top/oven. Any suggestions?
So this isn't completely one-sided, here is a recipe that I've used and liked.

Re: NBR: Stew/Soup Recipes
Now I want soup this weekend!
I made this one for a friend last fall and her family loved it: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/11/turkey-pot-pie-soup.html.

I'm trying to convince J that I need a new one. Seriously, the thing KILLS any meat and burns everything else. It boils on low.

It is a crock pot dish, but I've always found if I forget to put on the crock early enough, cooking on the stove works just as a well and faster.
Tonight I'm making butternut squash soup, the apple cider version. Also able to be done on the stove.
But most of the time I stick to a beef or chicken stew on the stove. No recipes for those, it changes every time for me. Oh, or crab soup, which changed every time too but is so yummy.
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

These are some of my favorites. Not sure how healthy they are (especially the last one...and the first one) but they are tasty

It looks like they changed the programmable options though. I like that we can set it for any time from 30 minutes to 12 hours on low or high. Seems that isn't the case with the newer ones.
