I agree with @mrsvedo
I don't think anyone would have lived up to him in my head. Is he smoking hot? No. However, I think I will come to love him based on the character and the interactions with Claire.
I'm enjoying the picture because I think it looks great in terms of scene setting and it's making me excited for the series.

But that doesn't fit the description in the book. He's not supposed to be a big muscular guy but more lean and sleek in the first couple books.
This. She describes him as more muscular in Voyager.
Assuming this is your vision of Jamie, I agree with you.
That said, he doesn't look like the Jamie I envisioned.
