What do you wish someone had told you before marriage?

I saw this on the Marriage board. I thought it was interesting...

" is there something you wish you knew about marriage before you said "I do"? And, even if someone told you, would you have paid attention?"

I wish that someone had told me how hard sex is to start out. Everyone makes it seem like puppies and rainbows. SO NOT TRUE. Otherwise not much changed for us when we got married because had already merged bills since we were living together.

I haven't really found anything yet. But then again, we paid attention in our marriage prep too. Not that we got too much out of it, but the stuff we did was useful.

Hmmm, I wish someone had told me to really have a baby talk before having one. Things are a lot better now but when we first had Lily it was awful. Sure we talked about kids and general ideas like discipline. But that's when they are older, we never really talked babies and stuff like cry it out, co sleeping, ect. Those are important things to agree on when you are sleep deprived from having a newborn.

I wish someone told me how little sex we would have after the baby is born. I never realized it would be so hard to have alone time. I thought she would be more independent, I guess.
