Cold remedies?

Ok, ladies, help. I have a nasty head cold. Head hurts, body hurts, no fever. Nose is puffy. I've done the steam showers and I have a neti pot, but I know I'm not using it right - something with the angle. I've had soup and OJ, I have saline to use before bed tonight and a warm mist humidifier. But my head is just pounding. Any other suggestions?

I think I just took cold medicine. I bet you could find a list online of safe(r) meds to take.

I would take Tylenol for the headache or find a list of safe cold meds.

I also have a friend who says this worked for her husband. Her drank one spoonful of the honey/lemon/ginger mixture in hot water every hour until he felt better.

There is some truth to that! I made a honey, lemon, water mixture and drank it hot when I was sick. It really helped my throat.

For the headaches I took tylenol. For the throat I sucked on throat drops. I blew my nose every chance I got. Drank lots of liquids, slept with the humidifier on and just rested as much as possible. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks, ladies. I ended up taking a sick day today - I have to remember that I have to come first, no matter what's happening at work. My ears hurt and my throat hurts, but I'm breathing a little better today. I will probably take tylenol at some point, but I asked my ob and I've looked around, and none of my usual medicines are safe.
