my first OB appt.

well that was uneventful!

I wasn't happy to jump on the scale though because

1) it was right after I ate lunch

2) my RE had me on a low carb diet adn since getting pregnant I've needed the carbs and I can tell my ass is growing.

but whatever.  I don't even know when the last time was that I got weighed so I can't tell at all if i've gained weight. the scale showed a number that I believe to be higher than what my scale would show, but I don't really care.

otherwise, they talked about contractions, the birth experience, nursing, testing throughout the pregnancy...and I think thats it. oh no, and pediatricians!! what the what?!

if you're curious I haven't picked one yet.

Re: my first OB appt.

  • @amccul20 I totally agree that they should not make us step on the scale unless a) we have not eaten in quite a long time b) ensure that our bladder and other is empty and c) definitely take off purse, shoes and anything heavy

Plus, I totally think they should deduct 2 lbs for clothing.. I'm just sayin! lol

Other than that, glad you had a uneventful appt!

Speak sweetly so that if you ever have to eat your words, they don't taste bad.

  • Glad you had a good first appointment. They definitely went over quite a bit with you! All they did for me was ask if I had any family history of genetic disorders and what my plan was for pain during birth. My next appointment was much more exciting. :)

Do you have an ultrasound scheduled?

If it's any conciliation - I'm 29 weeks and I keep forgetting to call to set up a meeting with a pediatrician.

  • Yay on your appointment.

If it makes you feel better, I didn't choose a pedi until the day before I was induced. Luckily, my pedi from when I was a kid took DD in, and he wasn't taking any more patients!

  • I didn't pick a pedi until a couple of weeks ago. I had to wait for info from work re: new insurance options, b/c I'm not having them in December just to find someone else in January. There's no rush.

Have I returned the required paperwork yet? Nope. Oops.
