Workout Check-In

Hey gals. Let's check in and keep each other accountable.  I know I need it this week!

What did you do in the last week that is new or that you are proud of?

What are your challenges you need to overcome to stay active this week?

What is your workout plan for the upcoming week?

Re: Workout Check-In

  • What did you do in the last week that is new or that you are proud of? I tried Yin yoga on Saturday in an effort to try something new, get a good stretch and a bit of meditation.  Highly recommend for a very gentle stretch.

What are your challenges you need to overcome to stay active this week? This week is crazy.  I am working on a scientific journal article due on Thurs, the big assignment for my grad school project, working full-time, stressing over my HCG results because my levels haven't dropped the way they should have, and my son and H have the stomach flu.  Oh, and I'm leaving next Wed to travel without them so I'm anxious preparing for the trip and already missing them.  I have every excuse not to workout and I'm using it.  I didn't do anything yesterday or today.  Tomorrow I am doing a workout at lunch for sure because I NEED it...more for my mental sanity than anything.  Tonight, I prioritized red wine and nesting over exercise.

What is your workout plan for the upcoming week? Tomorrow at lunch - cardio and a quick HIIT workout, Thurs night, Friday night, Sat day and Sunday hopefully! My goal is 5x a week.

  • What did you do in the last week that is new or that you are proud of? Nothing! Well, I went on a run when I was exhausted so that was something. Oh! And I raked our entire yard. My arms, lower back, and muscles around my ribs (what are those anyway?) are so sore this week.

What are your challenges you need to overcome to stay active this week? We're going OOT Thursday night through Sunday, so I need to squeeze in a run today and then one tomorrow on my lunch because I never run when we're visiting family.

What is your workout plan for the upcoming week? I'd like to get back into doing my long runs and yoga 1-2x a week. I really slacked off this month because I had it in my head I'd been working out too much and wouldn't get KU unless I backed off... well, that didn't do any good so I'm going back to the old routine!

Those muscles are called your intercostals (in between your ribs) and your lats (around the back and insert into your ribs :)

  • What did you do in the last week that is new or that you are proud of? Last week I really can't say I did anything to be proud of besides watch what I ate. I barely sat down all weekend but still... I did however start Yoga on Monday, I have a pretty decent DVD and I got back into my stretches. It felt amazing!

What are your challenges you need to overcome to stay active this week? I really need to either wake up 30 mins earlier or kick DH out of the living room for 30 mins to do my Yoga.

What is your workout plan for the upcoming week? I am getting back into Yoga - I miss it and it is very easy for me to fit into my schedule now that winter is upon us.

  • What did you do in the last week that is new or that you are proud of? I stayed active this weekend which made me happy. No real 'workouts' but I cleaned the entire house on Saturday and raked the front yard on Sunday. I'm also on a roll this week since I worked out on Mon. AND Tues! I just have to keep that momentum going.
What are your challenges you need to overcome to stay active this week? My legs are SOO sore! I did legs on Mon. and yesterday I did some HIIT cardio inside (T25 if anyone has heard of it). Needless to say I'm waddling around. Tonight is arms, so there is no excuse for me to skip it! I also want to try incorporating more Yoga. I need to zen out. The weekend is always hard for me to keep up my activity, so that is a never-ending battle.

What is your workout plan for the upcoming week? Tonight is arms, tomorrow cardio, and Friday is full-body. H and I are taking our nephew out trick-or-treating tomorrow night, so that will be some extra walking for me. Hoping to squeeze in some walking (maybe a jog) this weekend.

@GoodWolf - I had the same idea in my head with exercising too much or too intense. It has been my excuse for not doing the T25 workout program I have laying around. Since this cycle was a BFN for me too, I'm back at it (at least for now...).
