Finally closed!

This whole thing has been such a nightmare! We didn't know till the day of if we got the loan or not. So far we have had a leaky pipe (hubby fixed it), and our master bathroom toilet is not working. But we are still so happy with our home. We still have a few boxes to go through. But finally the nightmare is over!!!!

  • I am surprised that they still went forward with the schedule closing if no one was sure of the loan or not.

But I am happy for you!!! Glad you found a house and closed! Have fun unpacking and decorating :)

  • Well the thing is, we did have a loan, but our mortgage people kept messing up on the paperwork, and it was this whole big thing.
  • Yay! Congrats! The fun part--that is, organizing and decorating your own home--can now begin! It's funny the little things that pop up after you move in. We closed 2 weeks ago and so far on our house to-do list: figuring out why the kitchen sink sprayer has no pressure, snaking the master bath sink, figuring out how the water softener works (service tech coming tonight, ugh), programming the thermostat, and rekeying. I keep getting annoyed at this little stuff but I keep reminding myself that we're in our own home, which is the important part. :) Enjoy it!

  • Oh, and a tip: don't try to hang anything without a level. I desperately wanted to put curtains on our slider before the big moving day, so people couldn't see in as we brought stuff over in the evenings, and we didn't think to bring the level with us. The result is curtains that kinda look like what happened when you tried to trim your bangs as a kid.

  • Enjoy your new home.
