Dress and Shoe Help

Hello! Since it's been quiet, I thought I'd enlist your help to go shopping for me.  I have a wedding to go to next weekend and then an engagement brunch the first week of December.  I need a dress and shoes (I am weak in the fashionista department)!  I was going to wear the same dress for both. I am very, very petite (only 4'11") and smal overall  and I can never find anything that doesn't look like a tent on me.  TIA!

  • Rent the runway. I'm a big fan

  • I'm nearly a foot taller so I can offer no advice on fitting but I've heard good things about Rent the Runway as well. You can try stuff on and send back what doesn't fit.  Also, I am a fan of Ross/TJ Maxx/etc when there is a good selection.

    good luck!

My last experience with them was almost a total fail.  I ordered a dress to arrive the Thursday before my BIL's Friday wedding.  I got a phone call Thursday afternoon that the dress had mistakenly been sent out on their local courier service, so they were going to over-night it to me. I requested an early AM delivery but they said they could only guarantee delivery by noon.  Noon came and went with no dress.  It finally showed up at 2:30pm, just 30 minutes before we were to begin family portraits.  The ordeal was made worst because their phones were down Thursday & Friday, and HOURS went by in between emails (their phones are down frequently, FYI).

The only reason why it wasn't a total fail is that I really liked the dress, and they comped my whole order.

  • Thanks ladies!  Something to keep in mind!

I did end up getting two dresses (one in The Loft and the other in Express) and a pair of shoes.  I have the hardest time finding clothes since I am kid sized, so that is a major part of my shopping stress.
