Re: Thankful Thursday

  • Im thankful that DH has recognized my pissy, bitter attitude about not getting to go to AC this weekend, and the fact that after another failed cycle, AF will be showing up soon and has been overly sweet and helpful this week.

Sending me cute texts and doing stuff around the house without asking. Oh yeah and bringing me home wine too.

  • I'm thankful work finally turned on the heat.  The AC is on high, but at least the heat will counter act it.

I love this thought process!  We need to buy a fake tree this year.  I need to get on this!

We've had a fake one for awhile now. It's pretty small though which is the only downside. The upside is that I can put it up as early as I want and don't have to worry about me killing it by the time Christmas comes.

We brought up a real tree from NC our first Christmas in the house.  My uncle has a christmas tree farm, so it was free.  Last year I was burnt out and didn't decorate AT ALL.  I would do a real one again, but with us being away for either Thanksgiving or Christmas very year, it's just not worth it.  And this way I can keep it up as long as H lets me haha.

I'm sad that we won't get to decorate this year!

I'm thankful for a lot today: for H putting up with my sour attitude. For Teddy cracking me up. For selling the condo. For Dunkin Donuts Iced Tea.

  • A happy, healthy pregnancy so far. I feel like I have waited forever to get to this point. We're going to be 12 weeks in a few days so I can finally relax a little with the first trimester gone and over with.

I would get it soon. They can sell out quickly.

I am thankful that M got over her cold so quickly.  She started on Sunday night and by Tuesday night, her nose seemed clear.    I am also thankful for the aquarium that M has in her crib.  If she wakes up in the night, I will hear her turn it on and back to sleep she goes.  She did it quite a bit Sunday and Monday nights b/c of her cold.  Even DH said it was the best money we ever spent.  :)

Go to Lowes or somewhere on Black Friday. I got a REALLY nice fake one there a few years ago for pretty cheap. Just get a good one- I got a crapper a few years ago and threw it out after year 2- it was SO hard to get it to look nice. Just spend the $$ and get a good one.

Highly doubt I'll go to Lowes haha!  I did look there already.  But we should be in NC for Black Friday so it'll be a pain to bring back.

ETA - i've decided i want it decorated before we leave for Thanksgiving anyway haha.

  • I am thankful that my bff has her kids for Halloween this year. They were supposed to be with their dad but he's an idiot (understatement of a lifetime) and so she revoked his Halloween visit. Now I will have bff, her 2 boys, her sister, her mom, her niece, my grandparents, my dad, and us for tonight!
  • I'm thankful for my friends who are planning on staying with me this weekend while J goes to TX..I'm a lil nervous to be alone from 10am Friday til 630pm Sunday....so I have friends coming to stay the night with us.

I went to Acme last night to buy some Smarties for today's math lesson and the employees were running around, throwing Halloween candy off the shelves and putting Christmas items in its place.  It was exciting yet slightly disconcerting, probably because I was there to buy candy.
  • I am thankful that I made it through another Halloween in the classroom.
