So DH and I both LOVE Halloween. This year was the first year that we got to hand out candy and we were both really excited about it. We have a grave yard and chickenwire ghosts in our yard, a strobe light that makes spooky sounds. We both dressed up to hand out candy. A little ashamed to admit this but we turned handing out candy into a drinking game. We were getting every other door bell. Everytime you couldn't remember all the costumes after you shut the door you had to take a drink. We had probably two beers each (I know big drinkers lol) but it was still fun.
Anyway, DH dressed up in a scary costume. A lot of little girls jumped when he answered the door. The funniest one was this little bee that was probably about 1 1/2 years old. DH answered the door this little bees eyes got huge, he turned around leaped off the step and jumped straight into his mother's arms. I have never seen such a little person jump that high! As the parents walked away I heard the Dad say "That was the funniest d*** thing I've seen all day!" I guess it's good the parents weren't mad right.
I didn't get very many reactions from my costume. A lot of girls did tell me that they were witches last year. I did get a couple of teenage boys that gawked and said, "Uhhh.. I like your costume." Nothing as fun as DH, I'll have to work on something scary for next year!
Anyway here are our costumes:

I hope you all had a great Halloween and had as much fun as we did! Also, it is now November, we have all survived our first year of marriage!! Congrats everyone!
Re: Funny Halloween Story
Um your H would have scared me too. H and I were bums and just handed out candy in our PJs. I did have a strawberrita...
I'm glad the parents weren't mad too. I would have laughed if I were them. I remember my nephew being ok with all the customes except the Scary movie mask. Mind you this was 20 years ago... and EVERYONE was the scary movie mask person.
A drinking game while handing out candy seems like a great idea for next year. DH did not want to hand out any candy and made me answer the door every time someone came. He HATES Halloween.
Making it a drinking game definitely made it more fun. DH got really into it, he has a terrible memory, so he was determined to remember every costume. The hardest thing was on the kids when you can't tell what they are, those were an automatic drink.
I love the drinking game idea though!!
You look great!
