How was everyone's Halloween? If you took kids out, How was Trick or Treating? If you passed candy out, did you get lots of kids? How was the weather for everyone?
PIP costumes!!!
Re: How was your Halloween?!
Our power was out when we got home. Came on at 3am and woke Kev and I up. then the wind was so terrible I had trouble falling back to sleep. Few branches down in the yard (nothing too huge) and a nearby road is closed by what I assume is a downed wire or tree.
I don't feel like we had a lot of kids- but we handed out a lot of candy. I was giving multiple pieces to each kid. So I have no idea what our head count was like. EJ only was out for an hour, she was all wet and so they came back and we all congregated at a neighbors garage. Kids were inside playing. it was a lot of fun. I only have pics on my camera and didn't upload them yet. I will try to post one later

Answering my own post.
We had a great night! It rained hard earlier in the day, but the rain stopped. Forecast said it would start again at 7 so we headed out at 6. DH and I both went with dd and left a bowl of half our candy out. Dd was particular about houses she went to! She didn't want to go to any scary houses. Otherwise we went to a lot.
I have to say how amazing technology is too. We were able to Skype with my parents on my phone so they could see dd trick or treat a little. How cool is it that they could do that from a different state!
It was SO warm out but the rain started around 7. But with the warm temps it was bearable with umbrellas. We stayed out till 7:40 and the rain had died down. Except for some wet feet complaints,dd was fine. Again the temps helped.
We came home and passed out the rest of our candy. I figured we wouldn't get a ton more, but the rain ending helped. We had kids coming till 8:30. Probably got 30 kids, so I'm sure we would have had a ton had we been home the whole time.
Fantastic night!
Here's my Ariel and Sebastian
Nolan threw a fit when we put him into his costume, and tried ripping it off--but once I handed him the candy bucket and said, "Trick or Treat" and put a piece of candy in it, he was all in.
We headed over to my friend's house so she could see them in their costumes (she lives a few neighborhoods away) and since it was raining we decided to stay in her neighborhood since it's all townhouses that are close together.
The kids were having a blast. Even Nolan was walking up to the houses without us and yelling "trick or treat, thank you, bye!" at every house. But, because of the rain and the wind blowing our umbrellas inside out repeatedly, we only stayed out about 30 minutes. None the less, their buckets were full and they didn't complain a bit when we said it was time to go home.
Todd lasted about an hour before he started whining. And soon after Heather had to pee. Luckily we were close to a friend's house (we were many blocks from home), so we were able to make a pit stop and keep going. DH and T headed home about 7, and Heather lasted about 20 more minutes. She was "done" when we were 10-15 minutes from home and she didn't want to do any of the houses that we passed on the way home, even when people were on their porches! The bottom 2' of her dress and her boots were soaked, but she didn't whine about being cold.
The kids had a blast! We did have a drunk driver incident right in the middle of trick or treat. Thank God nobody got hurt but it was a close call.
Considering we had 1.5 days of non-stop rain (about 6" worth during that time), we thought we might have to build an arc to go around the neighborhood! Luckily, the rain stopped at 2pm yesterday and it ended up being a nice evening. We weren't sure what time everyone started here - I finally gave up waiting to see other kids around 6:35 and headed out with the hooligans. The kids lasted about an hour - Conall gave up 75% of the way through, Gavin gave up on the walk home and bypassed anyone sitting on their driveways, even.
It bugged me at one point to see Grandparents get into their car and creep the street to watch the grandkiddos ToT. Really? With so many cars parked on the streets, it became a hassle. Also, there were a ton of houses not partaking at all - like 10 houses in a row on one side. That made for a dark walk when the sun went down. Thanksfully DH lit up Sean's stroller with lights and glowing eyeballs - we were the talk of the kids! lol
It was fun - but I'm tired.
My three sons!
We left a box of candy out since we did ToT at my sister's house and it was gone when we got back. My sister definitely got less kids than usual.
Logan wasnt thrilled about his costume at first and then he got used to it.
(I can't post a pic from my phone.)
