Should I think about switching to a new Birth Control

I'm on my 3rd week on birth control (Generess FE) and Really starting to feel symptoms. I've had a little bit of sickness in my stomach and sore boobs mostly. But that is a usual symptom to come before my period. Today I've had a headache and I am feeling slightly depressed..I'm just wondering if it is ok to feel these symtoms or should I talk to my doctor about switching. The only problem is when I got birth control at my yearly check up, I recieved a bill in the mail for $400. My insurance paid $620 and all she did was check me up there for a second? How do they charge so much for that? I don't feel like I should have to pay that much for a visit once a year, do you? I just don't want to go back because I can't afford these large of bills all the time.

Re: Should I think about switching to a new Birth Control

  • Call and see if they will switch you without seeing you.  That is crazy expensive.  Planned Parenthood would be cheaper.

  • My OB switched me over the phone to a BCP that was covered under my insurance with a $5 copay. Just call and ask.

  • My doc always requested that I try a pill for three months to allow my body time to adjust, but if the depression is severe, I'd push for a change sooner.  Good luck.
