AW: I had my growth u/s yesterday! (PsIP)

I had an Ob appt and my growth u/s yesterday. Baby boy wanted nothing to do with the u/s. The second she turned on the monitor, he rolled so his butt was facing us. Completely ignoring us lol.

After a few pokes, he temporarily turned enough for us to get a profile shot. But he kept giving us weird angles. We actually discovered the reason he was being so stubborn was because he's frank breech. His poor little feet are scrunched up by his head. The tech showed me when she saw him push up on my belly that I could feel the outline of his foot! Very freaky and adorable at the same time :) he obviously still has plenty of time to turn around, but until then, both he and I are uncomfortable lol.

They estimate he's 2 lbs 14 oz and his HB is steady at 150. Here's out little man and picture of his foot lol. In the profile photo, you can see his leg above his arm, all the way at the top.

ETA: there was an excessive use of the word "actually." I took the majority of them out ha. Also, since I'm high risk, they told me that starting in mid-December when we start my weekly appts, they want to see me twice a week. Is this normal for high risk?

  • I'm so glad everything went well!  Look at what a cutie he is!

I'm sorry to hear how uncomfortable he must be (and you, too!).  Hopefully he gets himself straightened out, literally, and gets out of breech position when he needs to.

Thanks! Definitely checking this out. My belly is SO hard from the way he's positioned. He tries to stretch out and there's not enough room so it makes me feel like my belly is going to rip in half instead. Lol

  • I'm so glad it went well!

Also, my mom had a natural vaginal delivery with me and I was frank breach! they won't do that anymore. my mom said I started causing trouble early on:)

  • I'm high risk as well. I start my 2/week visits at 33 weeks. One is a non stress test and I don't see the doc. The 2nd appointment is another NST or ultrasound and then meet with the doctor. Seems like overkill but whatever I have to do.

  • Yay for a good appt. Hope he turns soon so you both can be more comfortable. And I wasn't high risk, but my bi-weekly appts. started after my 28 week appt. until 36 weeks, then they were weekly.

Did they say that you might be seen twice a week from 36 weeks on? I'm being seen twice a week once my weekly appointments start. My every 2 weeks appointments started at 28 weeks.

  • They made it sound like I'd still only see the doctor once a week but have twice a week nst at the office. I made all my appointments thru our due date so I could have first choice of appointments.

  • Aw he is precious. I hope he can squirm around and get himself out of the uncomfortable position! Hopefully the extra appts just mean that they are keeping a really close eye on you to prevent anything from going wrong. Just being extra cautious :)
