Manic Monday

I first want to say.. I totally broke out the Christmas music on my way to work.  Then I heard Starbucks has their holiday drinks and cups, so I got a Caramel Brulee latte.  It's way early, I know.  But I love Christmas!

My weekend was pretty good.  We had a friend come in town that's in the marines.  Haven't seen him in years.  Another one of DH's friends came over, and we had a bit too much to drink.  But it was fun!  However, Saturday both DH and I felt like crap.  We had a birthday party to go to Saturday night, but we didn't even last there til 9:30.

I got a lot accomplished yesterday - grocery shopped, organized all our food/meals, cleaned, did laundry, DH took care of all the leaves in our yard, I also sewed a curtain & made a Christmas tree skirt for my mom.

I think today is going to be the start of AF.  Boo.  But we are doing drugs + IUI this cycle, so I'm ready to get that going!!

ky - I keep on wondering if it's too early to put up the Christmas tree! We already had our Thanksgiving in Canada, so it could really go up anytime now! Good luck with everything this month! *fingers crossed*

My weekend was a nice combo of low-key and fun. But I had a birthday party to go to on Saturday night and it was really annoying... there were eight of us in total, all females, and at least 6 of the women had kids (plus me and one other woman, who I don't know well enough). All they talked about were babies, kids and pregnancy. I know two of the women are pregnant right now, but I'm talking about over 2 hours of non-stop baby/pregnancy talk. It was really freakin' annoying. And honestly, kind of sad that a group of women can't talk about something else. I mean, what about religion or politics or current affairs or pop culture? There wasn't even a b**** session about husbands/fathers who don't help out enough. Just babies. It's the 21st century and it felt like I was in a time wrap. I know kids are #1 for these women, but it's like there was nothing else going on in their life....

  • ldawn - I think that would drive me crazy. I can't stand when conversations drag on and on.

Saturday we went to a Halloween party for H's work. It was at a major exec's mansion which was awesome. We showed up as minions just to see that the host of the party was Gru and his wife was a minion. Whoops. Everyone thought we planned it when really H is so low/new in the company that he's never talked to the exec before. :P

Sunday we went on roller coasters. My neck hates me for it right now.
  • @Idawngirl I would have freaked out and left early. I've been in situations like that and it's terrible.

My weekend was very relaxing. Friday we went to dinner, Saturday we worked out, then watched football all day and H made paleo chili while I sipped Bailey's and coffee. Sunday we went to H's dad's house for his birthday. Then we went to a couple open houses and fell in love with a home, even though we know we can't buy anything until our house sells. Very frustrating.

This week H is gone for work, and I am slammed at work. I was here until 8 last night and will probably continue that streak until Friday, when I leave early to go see Dave Chappelle, who's doing a last-minute show not far from here. Woot!

  • Good luck Ky!

Our weekend was wonderful. I wasn't scheduled to work so that was a huge plus. Friday night we went to see Enders Game. Saturday and Sunday we did laundry, went shopping, I did some baking, we relaxed and enjoyed doing whatever we wanted, and we returned a wallet that fell out in Hs car. He helped a guy at 6am on the highway during the week. His wallet fell out behind the seat and we drove to return it days later.
  • @erollis -- How kind of you! I hope if I ever lose my wallet, it's in the back of your car. :)

  • Thanks. We try. I'm pretty sure the guy would rather not have to get a new SS card among other things.
