For those of you whose DH had to get an SA, did you need an referral or RX? Did you get the paperwork from your OBGYN or his physician?

My OBGYN wrote the Rx for him to get it done after I talked to her about being at the year mark. She wrote the script at the same time we scheduled my HSG.

My OB said he could write the RX but suggested going to a urologist directly for the RX so it was read by the right people. So, DH went to the urologist and he did it all.

We had it done at the RE's office. Because he already had the referral to the RE, that's all our insurance required.

Thanks! At my 6 month appt my OB asked if we wanted a script and I said I'll wait until the year mark. I then called at 10 months and the nurse said his physician needed to give it to him. I thought that was odd bc he has only been to his doctor once in 4 years.

I'll call again and get it through my Dr.

As others have said, my OB/GYN gave the Rx and told us where he would like us to get it done. He said the labs around us would get it wrong 9 times out of 10 so we had to go over an hour away to get it done. We still didn't get the results (I guess it doesn't matter much now) but we paid for it so I would like to know! I'm going to ask when we go for our next appointment.

My obgyn gave me mine while referring me to the re. I handed it over to the re and they said "that's great", but I don't know if they actually needed it?
