GTKY: Milk

Do you drink milk? Does it have to have a flavor? How much do you buy in a week?

Re: GTKY: Milk

  • I dont drink a ton, but I like cereal and my h loves chocolate milk we buy 2% about a half a gallon every other week

  • We drink a lot of milk when it's colder, not so much when it's hot out.image

Over the summer we might drink a half gallon over a week or two, but during the winter we can drink a gallon or two in a week depending on how often H is home for dinner. It's always regular milk and skim most of the time.

  • I get 1% organic milk, no flavor. I usually buy a half gallon every week and have it with cereal. Every once in a while I'll just have a glass on its own if I feel like it.

  • I go through a 1/2 gallon of skim every 4-5 days.  I either drink water, tea or milk.  I like it plain.

  • Yes we drink milk. I love milk. But since we moved to Florida we haven't been drinking much milk here is now 4$ a gal which is really ridiculous since in Wisconsin it was about 2$ not more than 3$ So we only buy milk when it's a good deal like when Walgreens has it for 2.99 or Aldis. I love chocolate milk but have to buy a certain brand that doesn't have High fructose corn syrup since I am allergic.

  • Only in my coffee...so maybe 2oz/day. I rarely buy milk, usually it's only if I need it for a recipe or something. I hate hate hate drinking plain milk, like from a glass...ick!!!

  • H and I both LOVE milk. I also cook a lot with milk. We usually buy 3 gallons a week very rarely do we go 2 weeks without buying milk. H and I both usually have at least 1 glass a night and then some food I will drink milk with to keep me from getting heartburn.
  • H and I really only have milk with cereal or cookies unless I am cooking and I need some. Unless I KNOW I need it for something, we buy a quart or half gallon of 1% (I was using skim and H loves 2% so that is compromise at it's best) and we don't always finish it. Work provides milk and that is where I usually eat breakfast.

  • If drink milk daily in coffee, and cook with it. I'll drink a glass on occasion, and go through spurts where I eat lots of cereal. H is about the same minus using it in coffee. We buy 2 liters (about a half a gallon?) every week to 10 days.

  • I HATE milk unless it's in my coffee or on my cereal.  H likes milk though, so we buy a half gallon a week.  We rarely drink the entire half gallon in the week.

This is exactly why we get 1% too, haha

  • I like milk but only really drink it when I'm craving it. Sometimes I do crave a super cold glass of milk and sometimes I'm craving some chocolate milk. When I am eating pancakes or French toast I HAVE to have a cold cup of milk!

  • I'm lactose intolerant, so haven't had "real" milk in years. I drink almond milk or lactose free skim milk only in cereal or chocolate milk, but I do get at least 8oz a day :)
  • I love milk. I drink 2 8oz glasses a day. My husband decided we need to drink 2% milk a few months ago since he heard that lower percent milk goes through too much processing or something like that. I like plain white milk and chocolate milk. Milk and water are generally the only two things I drink everyday.

  • Ha ha, I know.  It is all getting very real now.   We bought a car seat last weekend and the nursery is close to done for now.

  • We buy a gallon of 2% that will last us probably close to 2 weeks. Sometimes I will bring a gallon of 1% home from work. I drink milk a lot at work because we are required by licensing to serve the children milk with every meal unless they have a dietary restriction against it, so there is tons of milk at work. Whenever I'm thirsty at work, I just pour a cup! It's free nutrition!

  • @invane00 I will post pictures of the nursery this weekend after we hang up the pictures.  I was waiting on hanging them up until we got the dresser/changing table.  Now that that is all together we can hang the pictures up tomorrow night or Saturday.
