a/s follow-up appt...and a question

I had my monthly check up this morning and my OB told me the results of our a/s.

Baby boy's position kept the tech from getting good shots of his heart.  (No surprise there!)  I have an u/s scheduled for 11/27 to get these pics.  I'll be 21w4d.

Also, a/s showed Choroid Plexus Cysts.  As our NT Scan gave us a 1/99,000 chance of Trisomy 18, my OB isn't worried about the cysts, but is still having me go in for an u/s at 28 weeks to make sure they've resolved themselves.  She said CPCs are fairly common.  Because my OB isn't worried, I'm not worried.  DH, on the other hand, is a worrier and is concerned.

Have any of you had to deal with CPCs?

Re: a/s follow-up appt...and a question

  • I haven't heard of them, but if your OB isn't worried then I think you're taking the right approach and not letting it get to you.
  • My cousin, who was due 3 weeks after me, had two CPCs on her baby boy when she went in for her a/s. They both were resolved by the next ultrasound. Most likely your baby boys will too. :)

Also, what is it with babies not wanting to show off their hearts? Lol Adalyn was in such a weird position that it took 45 minutes to get good pictures. It also took that long to find out she was a girl because she had her legs closed tight. Modest baby. ;)

  • No personal experience, but from what I heard/read on message boards most of the time those cysts resolve themselves. Praying that they're nothing to worry about!
