WWYD- Xmas decorations

So this is the front of my house. I want to put a wreath on each window, but what do I do about the big window downstairs? There is one big window with two regular windows next to it. Do I do 3 wreaths? Just 1 in the middle? Maybe 1 bigger and 2 regular? What do you think?

Re: WWYD- Xmas decorations

  • I'm horrible at decorating, but I would do regular wreaths on all the other windows, and then the bottom one I would do one big one, leaving the ones next to it empty.

I don't know though, I would have to see it. Maybe put one bigger one up in the middle and see if it looks weird with or something next to it. I'm no help lol.

  • I'd put a big wreath in the middle window and leave the other two smaller windows empty.

    PS - Cute house!

  • I'd do a big one and leave the smaller windows empty, too.
  • I'd like a big wreath, and maybe see how 2 candles in the smaller ones looks.  I always love candles in the windows.

    I like the candle idea.

  • Or if the side ones feel too empty you could put something like this on the ledges:

I like that, but the ledges are covered by stupid bushes. I like candles too, but I'm not sure how they would work logistically
  • I would do one big wreath too.

  • Obviously you need to buy a life size santa and put him in the big window.

  • We use a regular timer for all our Christmas lights. We have a big window in the front and I put our tree there.

I have 3 trees. So there is one in the living room and one in the family room. I love Christmas! :)

HHmm....well, that's an idea. I could put the tree in the window and small wreaths on either side....

If I did candles, would it look weird to only do them on those two windows and not the upstairs ones? And then that would mean the upstairs ones had wreaths and candles?

  • I am doing a little tree for the girls in the family room that L can decorate and undecorated to her heart's content- maybe she'll leave my tree alone!

Xmas Tree Shoppe had the candles- I got 2. I got small wreaths for all the windows and the front door and a big wreath for the big window. I also got Xmas Red bows for each wreath. I figure I'll try it all and I can return whatever I don't want.

When are you guys decorating outside? Thanksgiving is so late this year I really don't want to wait- that's a lot of work for just December. Also, when is your tree going up? I'm thinking about the week before turkey day.

  • I sooooo want to start putting stuff up now. Last night I just put up a little Santa on my self.

I bought all new bulbs for the tree yesterday. I've decorated before Thanksgiving a couple of times before and G and A make fun of me. M was so excited to see that little Santa so I may just ignore them and start putting stuff up this weekend.

No one in my neighborhood has started the outside of their houses. I might wait until next weekend to start putting my wreaths and lights out.

I just feel like Decemeber goes by way too fast, so why not start a little early.

  • Oh, and Santa just arrived at the mall today. So I say that means we can start decorating today if we want.

  • I plan to get me tree Monday and have it and my house decorated before Thanksgiving since I'll be in NC.

  • This whole post makes me sad because I won't have a house to decorate this year. So post pictures so I can live through you all!

You can come over and hang out at my place.  I have hot coco and Hunter loves kids!  Well as long as I'm not holding them.

but next year you're going to have a house and you'll want to invite us all there for our holiday party!!
  • I'll probably wait until Thanksgiving to decorate. But I'll take down all my fall stuff and have things ready to go.  The outside is DH's department, but maybe I'll suggest getting ready if we have a day that the weather will be nice.

Yea!! I'll invite you over all of the time since I'll live in a house that you won't need to climb 3957 steps to get to!
