Re: QOTD 11/7

  • Usually after Thanksgiving.  I kind of enjoy the feeling of having only a few weeks to get it done.

  • I do a lot of my shopping on Amazon.  They have already started Black Friday deals so I'll start shopping soon!
  • Usually around Thanksgiving. I am usually shopping for at least something until the last minute.

  • Usually around Thanksgiving, but this year we bought quite a few Christmas presents while we were in Italy.

We're planning on a much simpler Christmas this year, so we're not going crazy with spending a lot of money on gifts. DH and I aren't exchanging gifts and we're just buying 1 nice (but in budget) thing for everyone else on our list.

  • Usually around thanksgiving but with the baby and my nephews, I've started already....personalized Xmas stockings, ornaments, clothes, some educational toys, etc....amazon has had some great deals!

  • I tend to be that crazy person shopping the week before Christmas! That's because I go back to work fulltime 2 weeks before Christmas every year when exams are over and that's when I get paid.

  • I start right around Thanksgiving. We are doing low key this year too, not going overboard at all.
  • Eh if I see something in Sept, i'll get it.  But this year I have no idea who wants what and who i'm even buying for!

  • We usually buy a lot of it online on Cyber Monday so we'll probably do that again this year.  We are also going to have a low key Christmas this year because I am having TMJ surgery on 12/10 so I'll still be recovering from that.

  • Really, whenever I find things I know someone would love. I prefer to be done at least a week or two before Christmas.

    Anniversary

  • Usually closer to Thanksgiving. Unless it is something I see earlier that I know the person would want. I did get to help my boss with her Christmas shopping, so that put me in a bit of a festive mood.

  • Whenever I find what I am looking for and for a good price. Most years I'm done before thanksgiving but this year I have my list ready but I haven't gotten anything yet.

  • No set time. It depends on who all I'm buying for and if I have any idea of what they want. Usually after Thanksgiving though. Occasionally on Black Friday or just before.

  • Usually by mid-November.  I feel you can get better sales in October than you can once the holiday rush starts.  Also, I hate shopping in crowds.  Shopping is something I enjoy and rude, crazed holiday shoppers ruin it for me.  I do my best to avoid shopping between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I don't like the big hit financially all at once which is why I initially began shopping in October.  One October I got about $1,000 worth of clothes for a little under $500 (for others, not for me).

I am just starting this weekend for this season.  H's family is Jewish and we are celebrating Hanukkah on Thanksgiving so I need to get all of the kids ASAP.  From what I've been told, two just want gift cards, so that will be easy.

I also need to shop early because my H, mom, dad and brother are all born in December.  Between Christmas and birthdays, it really adds up.
