PW- I know. But I feel sort of dirty.
So, as I've sort of mentioned to death, I have my first appointment with the RE on Wednesday.
I was just walking by my boss's office, and she pulled me in. She asked me what day is slowest for me so we could set aside some time to go over a few things- basically an overview of the position and procedures that she never had with me when I started (5 months ago).
I told her Wednesday, which is true, and then mentioned that I have a drs. appt this coming Wednesday, at 9am. She said 'okay' well, maybe in the afternoon, or Thursday.. we'll figure something out.
As I was walking away, she said 'You'd give me lots of notice if you were pregnant, right?'
<insert awkward silence>
After I picked my jaw up off the ground, I responded that I wasn't, I would, should that occur, but I wasn't.
And I walked away.
I was really close to being like, actually, I'm not. But that's what the appointment's about! How's that for notice?

ETA: Also- boss's? Really? Not boss'? 3-S rule?

Who lets people without a filter get so far in a company?? It shouldn't be allowed! That would be a great rule. Demotion for lack of filter with employees.
My new boss is much better, but my old boss wouldn't have thought twice about saying something like that. I give you a lot of credit for handling it so gracefully. Good luck with your appointment.
