Overseas PCS and Shipping Pets

Does anyone know of a reputable company for shipping pets to the UK? We are PCS'ing to RAF Lakenheath in August, and my parents are going to ship our pets over in September (gives us time to find a place that accepts pets and what not). Originally, we were going to ship them via Delta Cargo, but that has turned into a complete cluster f$%@ to say the least. I have contacted a company called Air Animal, and they are working on getting me a quote for our Golden Retriever and Great Dane. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with them or if they could recommend a company that they have had a good experience with. TIA!

Re: Overseas PCS and Shipping Pets

  • Hey Girl,

When we PCS'ed to Japan we just brought them with us. Trying to send them separately is very expensive (think upwards of $2,000 per pet). Normally bases will have a kennel where you can store them until you get settled. Maybe your parents can bring them when they come to visit? Check with your sponsor/base facebook groups. Sometimes overseas sponsors don't have all the right answers.

    Good Luck!
  • So I knoooow this is old but I couldn't resist: I'm at (correction: held against my will at) RAF Lakenheath myself!  How are you enjoying it?  Did everything turn out ok?  Hope everything came together!!
