The Night Circus

Hello all,

I just wanted to recommend a book called The Night Circus. You may have heard of it, but in case not, do check it out! A friend of mine suggested it and I couldn't put it down! Got my Mother into it as well and apparently they are working on a film version of it. It was very visual and a beautiful read. Maybe even make yourself a cup of hot chocolate to have handy...It's a read that plays with the senses for sure. You'll be glad you made some! lol Enjoy.

Re: The Night Circus

  • I loved this book! I'm not usually a fan of overly-descriptive books but Morgenstern is such an amazing writer that I felt like I could have been in any of the magical tents she described.

I know that not everybody here was as crazy about this book but I would definitely list it as one of my faves and can't wait for more from her.

  • I have to agree! I wouldn't say it's one of the best ever written but I certainly thought it was just really charming and a good little adventure. I'm looking at reading a book called "The Book Thief" next. Seems like it could be good...

I super hated The Night Circus...like, with a passion. But, it WAS beautifully written. The Book Thief though, is INCREDIBLE. One of my favorite books ever. It will change you. I hope you like it!
  • Thanks for filling me in on The Book Thief! Can't wait to read it!! :)

What very different books you mention. I enjoyed them both though

  • A friend of mine gave me this. For some reason, I keep mixing it up with Water for Elephants, which is also on my bookshelf. (Hello circuses.) I'll get to them both sooner or later.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

  • To Aggiebug, I like to mix it up. Any favorite book suggestions? ;) To Passanie, I felt that Water for Elephants was a wonderful book. I feel it has a better storyline than the Night Circus. The Night Circus is a treat as well though. :)

  • As do I.

    My recent favorites
The Winter Sea by Susannah Kearsley
    Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran
    Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
The Fault in our Stars by John Green
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
