Just got home from the hospital...

I hadn't felt baby move since last night so the OB had me go into the monitoring area of labor and delivery. All came back fine and baby is thankfully quite active but I'm still not feeling the majority of his or her kicks. How the heck am I supposed to know when to worry and when all is well? I'm thinking baby must have moved because normally I feel him or her kicking quite frequently. The nurse at the triage said just to trust my gut but I don't want to be the gal that cries wolf every other day. Thankful all was well but definitely felt like a loser worrying about nothing.

Re: Just got home from the hospital...

  • I'm so glad everything went well! I wouldn't worry about it; trust your gut. You know your baby, so you'll know when things seem to be different than normal.
Congrats to my TTC buddy Madeline! Cheering for all the strong 3T ladies!

  • My doctors office always said they want you to be the nervous parent and would rather you come in 10 times a week than have you not come in the one time you really needed to. Trust yourself. You will know and if not, doesn't hurt to get checked out.

  • You are not a loser, you are a concerned and loving mother. I'm glad you went in and got checked, and I'm glad baby is okay. Don't worry about going in for everything that doesn't feel right, that's what the nurses are there for and that's what they expect you to do. Hang in there girl!

  • better to be safe than sorry!

just remember there is probably someone else out there that calls waaaay more than you.

  • My doctor and the L&D nurses both said thatthey would rather be safe than sorry and it is okay to be concerned. I'm sorry baby moved and yyou can't feel kicks as much. That does make it difficult not to worry!

I am glad everything is okay!

At around 28 weeks I stopped feeling him move as much, so I freaked, called my OB, and went to L&D.  They said he had just moved to a different position.  But always be safe than sorry and go in when you think you need to.
