I tried out another "one pot wonder" dish

After the success of the lo mein dish I decided to try the Italian style recipe.  It worked the same way as the lo mein but I just wasn't in love with the flavor.  It really didn't wow me; I probably won't make it again.

I just thought I'd share with you ladies.  I know a lot of you tried the lo mein.

  • Thanks! I was thinking about making that one. We tried the lo Mein last week. I liked it but didnt love it. Needed to make some adjustments and it was just way too much food, ha!

Do you think that any adjustments could make it better or was it no good at all?

  • I agree with you April - I wasn't wowed by it. I think I did make a mistake of adding too much water, but we had to throw it into the frying pan to dry it up a bit. And add more flavoring.

But it was a good try!

  • See, I really loved the lo mein.  So maybe it's just a matter of opinion.  I think the onions made the Italian version a little sweet for my taste.  I can't really pin point anything that was wrong with it.  Maybe the flavor just wasn't for me.

  • I tried the lo mein too without the onions- John & I liked it but kids - not so much. And I think I made the mistake of making it & putting it in fridge to cook later and the noodles got wet so they were really soggy by the time we ate it.

I thought the lo Mein had a lot of liquid left at the bottom but I just didnt scoop that into the plate. I thought the noodles were really flavorful and I liked them but I felt like the chicken didnt get any of the flavor. So that part was bland.

I thought it was decent but I felt like it was a lot of waste for us because it made a ton of food. Dd didnt like it so it was just dh and I. And while I liked it I didn't love it. I saved the leftovers but nobody wanted them after the fact. I think I may try it again but maybe half or even quarter the recipe.
