So, I know I intro-ed and said I was going to post more

And then disappeared, but I think I have a pretty good excuse.... We had our little boy last week at 34+5 after my water just randomly broke wednesday morning while my husband was on a business trip! Thankfully he wasn't too far away and made it back in time. We're all doing fine, DS is still in the hospital because he's having trouble eating (he gets tired before he eats enough) but hopefully he'll get to come home soon! The docs say babies usually get really interested in feeding at 36 weeks, which he would be this coming Saturday, and we've been seeing progress already. They prepared us for him to be a lot worse based on his age, so we're so glad for that!

  • Congrats on your little guy!!  I'm so glad to hear he's doing so well, please keep us posted!  What did you name him?

  • Oh my goodness! That's scary but I'm glad everything seems to be ok. How are you feeling?

  • I would have to agree that having your baby is a perfect excuse for your post and run. Congratulations!
  • Your post and run is forgiven :-P

Congrats on your little bundle of joy.  So happy to hear that he's already making leaps and bounds despite his early arrival!

  • Thanks! His name is Thomas Alan, and of course he's so super cute! They just took his feeding tube out last night, and it was great to see his face without anything on it. They said it might have to go back in, but he's eating almost enough on his own and they wanted to give him a break from it.

I'm doing pretty good, our birth was a little crazy because I wasn't in labor at all really when my water broke, so of course they had to do like a million things to try and get him out without a csection. So I have a little extra healing to do, but nothing too bad. Going back and forth to the hospital is kinda crazy, but fortunately DH works from home most of the time, so he has some flexibility to shuttle me back and forth and spend some time there during the day as well.
  • Congratulations! My youngest was born early after my water broke as well! I'm glad to hear that there are no major problems. My little guy was VERY sleepy for the first couple of weeks and didn't nurse a lot, but once he "woke up" he was an eating fiend. Hope you have the same experience. :-)

  • Hooray for safe arrivals of new little ones, even if it is with some extra drama thrown in!  I hope you get to bring him home soon.  And, if there is anything we can help you with, post away!

    Congrats!

  • Thanks everybody! We can bring him home after he has 2 days of weight gain eating on his own, so for now we're just trying to feed him as much as possible ;-)
