I had a fun FB chat with a NBCer last night, and discovered new things about her I didn't know before. In honor of that:
1) Tell us something people here might not know about you.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare!

Re: Wacky Wednesday Poll
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. At this point in my life, it's graduating college. I'm the only one on either side of the family with a bachelors degree that I know of.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! No.
Thats a tough one. Have I ever told you ladies that I am allergic to sea food? In relation to that I graduated from College taking Fish and Wildlife and Fishing is one of my hobbies.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of.
Paying off my student loans is one of my biggest not child/dog related accomplishments. I did it on my own and was happy to have it done with.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare!
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. Graduating college. I practically failed out my first time around, but I went back at night and graduated magna cum laude in 2011. I'm one of those people that 18 wasn't old enough for college. I should have taken a break.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! Once at summer camp I had my period. After dinner I got up and I noticed that I leaked all over the bench seat. I was so mortified I ran away. I don't have a clue if anyone saw, but no one mentioned anything. That's one of many times that happened, but that was the only time I didn't, um, clean up my mess.

1) Tell us something people here might not know about you. Ummm..... I played Marty in my HS production of Grease. They had a friend of the director play Vince Vontaine. He got way to into his part. He ended up giving me a hickie the size of a golf ball during the dance scene.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. Well, recently, I raised enough money to install a new playground at our town's local YMCA. The install was last month and I am still on a high from this accomplishment. (Woo hoo). Other than that it is a daily accomplishment I finish everything I need to do in a day without ripping my hair out.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! Cripes, I can't even think of anything good here.............

1) Tell us something people here might not know about you. A few years ago one of my doctors added "MRIs" under my list of allergies. I had a spinal fusion when I was 11 so MRIs are a no-no. It makes any new doctor that I meet laugh when they see it.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. Probably buying our house. We got married and bought our house within a year. Also, dealing with everything DH & I dealt with these past few months. I'm not sure if that's really an accomplishment but I'm proud of the way we dealt with everything together-one of the first tests on us as a couple.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! One day at work instead of calling my mom, I called my cell phone instead. While the desk phone was calling out, I saw my cell phone start ringing so I answered it. It had been a long week.
1) Tell us something people here might not know about you.
I have never been on Facebook or Twitter. I have been tempted a couple times, like when my stepbrother was deployed and when we moved to SC. My DH & I both avoid it because it just seems like it causes a lot of unneccessary drama. 2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. Becoming a Marine.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! I have so many of these. I always remember this one particular moment from when I was little though. I always worshipped the ground my stepbrother walked on. He is 11 years older than me. One Halloween when I was about 7, my stepbrother & his GF took me trick-or-treating in her neighborhood. I was trying to be super cool, mind you. When we stopped at her house, they were all talking about how they liked Pat Benetar (it was the 80s, obvs.). His GF then asked me if I liked Pat Benetar. I try to play it off like I know who Pat Benetar is and say, "Yeah, I like him a lot!". My little 7 year old self was totally mortified. Pat Benetar is a woman for those of you who may not know. My stepbrother teased me about it for weeks.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare!
1) Tell us something people here might not know about you. I'm 23, almost 24. I'm 5 feet and 3/4 inches. I get mistaken for a fourteen year old all the time (I get carded buying video games for DH). I'm a crappy driver.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. I'm the first person in my family to graduate from college. I am also the first person in my family to go to graduate school. I'm also pretty proud of myself as the oldest sister. I have five younger sisters and pretty much take care of them because my mom is AWOL and my dad doesn't have a big enough place for everyone.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! I told my boss last year in a text that I couldn't come to work because I was feeling a little dick and was going to the doctor. Feeling a little dick. Like why is the s and d key next to each other???
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. Buying my first home (by myself) at 24 and living single for 9 years. And for almost having my first home paid off before selling in 2005 (I only owed about 10k on my mortgage). So I walked away from the closing table with a BIG check.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! I embarass myself pretty much every day of my life. Mostly it involves tripping up or down stairs; knocking myself in the head; falling down; or saying the most inappropriate things at the worst times.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. So 5 years ago I got really sick a month before I was going to start my Appalachian Trail thru hike. Big plans....
Anyway, I had to cancel that and spent the summer in bed and in the hospital. No one knew what was wrong but I had some serious, scary problems. Turns out on one of my backpacking trips I got bit by a tick and ended up with Lyme disease. They think it bit near my neck so I ended up with a lot brain issues. But it was so long from the bite to the diagnosis that finding a dr to treat for longer than 2 weeks was a challenge. I still suffer from it today. But now I am doing things that 5 years ago I could not. I'm going camping and hiking and kayaking and swimming and biking. I'm trying to push myself even though the pain is always going to be with me. And I guess I'm proud of that.
So my public service announcement...if you get bit by a tick, go get some antibiotics stat!
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! I love to bake and I'm good at coming up with my own recipes. Sometimes experiments flop. I love no bake peanut butter cornflake chewy cookies. So years ago I figured that adding chocolate into the mix would be awesome.
Awesomely dog poo look alikes. Not so embarrassing really, but as it was my contribution to Christmas dessert and I got teased a lot....it made me not want to make cookies again for a long time. Luckily I got over it and I generally do test runs of everything that I'm going to be sharing with anyone other than my husband now.
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

my read shelf:
1) Tell us something people here might not know about you. I don't like cake. At all. Never have.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. Flying 9 hours to Hawaii. I am T-E-R-R-I-F-I-E-D of flying. Terrified. Honestly, after doing that, I really feel like I can do anything. Childbirth without drugs was a piece of cake compared to walking on that airplane.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! I don't get embarrassed too easily but early on when DH and I were dating, we went away for the weekend to this nice resort. One night I was so excited about the sunset that I ran out to the balcony. Except, the door wasn't open like I thought and I ran right into the glass door.

2). My current job. I'm one of my only family members with a career. I'm also proud of being able to buy my house.
3) My first day of work, I was driving a work vehicle. I'm used to driving standard and I slammed on the break because I was confused. I forgot the vehicle was automatic and I panicked. I have never lived that one down.
my read shelf:
:P
1. Having two beautiful and amazing kids.
2. Making it 12 years with my husband- we were high school sweet hearts.. we've been married for 6 years.
3. I was the first in my immediate family to go to a university, the first to graduate from a university, and the first to get my masters.
4. My teaching... I was voted one of the most influential/liked teachers at my school this year.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. I graduated from an 18 month Associate's Degree Graphic Design program in 9 months with a 4.0
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! I farted in English class in 7th grade. The whole room was so quiet. In 7th grade, it was equal to death. I think it's hilarious now.

1) Tell us something people here might not know about you. I've auditioned for American Idol twice and Jeopardy three times.
2) Tell us something you've accomplished that you're proud of. The amount of time it'll take me to graduate with my Bachelors. I did 2 years at a major university fresh out of high school but couldn't afford any more than that. I went back in 2011 with a completely different major and will graduate in May 2014. I'll have finished in a total of 5 years, 4 of which I was also working full+ time. That's how long many traditional students (including DH) take.
3) Tell us about an embarrassing moment, if you dare! I sort of danced topless in my 10th grade history class on accident.
Long story -- We were doing presentations on the 20s and 30s and my topic was music and art. As part of my presentation I dressed up as a flapper and danced the Charleston. Except that my top fell down. Which I didn't notice until someone in the class pointed out to me (with all the grace of 15 year olds) that it was down. To this day I have no idea how long I was topless. I finished my presentation and skipped school the next day. I got an A though.
my read shelf:
2. Being a relatively positive and happy person.
3. On the first day of high school I was so nervous that I was sick to my stomach. I started to get light headed as I was walking off the bus so I fell down the stairs. Not the best way to start things...
