We are scheduled for a 3D ultrasound tonight (and getting a DVD of him moving around in my belly!). I'm actually kinda nervous. I feel like we are "meeting" him for the first time or something (that probably sounds insane).

Last night, I put a flashlight to my pelvic bone and he began thrashing around. My kicks have definitely been lower today than the past week so I don't know it that's a good or bad sign. He definite wasn't happy about the flashlight though. It looked like he was trying to burst through my stomach to get away from it lol

I will be sharing pictures once I get a chance. I hope he has DH's eyes. DH has doe eyes. Mine are tiny and almond-shaped :)

No point to this except that I need work to end so I can get out of here!!

***update***

Scan went great! He's still frank breech (and good lord, that looks uncomfortable!) and was very sleepy during the scan regardless of my efforts of drinking iced orange juice before we went.

If these pictures are accurate, he has my nose and face shape and DH's eyes (score! DH has big doe eyes!) and feet - along with their dexterity, he kept spreading his toes apart lol. I can't watch the DVD. It's set to lullaby music and he was grabbing his toes and rubbing his eyes. It was waaaay too cute! I sobbed through it, haha.

DH kept telling me last night that LO looks like me. However, I look like a female version of my grandfather. My mom sent me baby pictures this morning of my grandfather - and they look identical to the 3D scan. They could be twins. My grandfather is no longer with us, so again with the crying.

I want to honor him in some way with the name but DH hates the name Walter. (Full name Walter Francis - Francis is more unlikely than Walter) Because of tradition on DH's side the middle name has to be David. I have some thinking to do. So happy we did the scan though. I'll post pictures once DH sends them to me.

  • good luck I can't wait to hear how it goes!!

is the flashlight thing something everyone does? or were you just goofing around?

  • @LuckyAngel07 - honestly, they creeped me out too. Then, at our a/s, they showed him to me in 3D (I go to a MFM). Instantly, both DH and I were in love and DH was the first to blurt out, "We need to schedule a 3D in the third tri." (It's great to see him so excited, not going to deny him that)

Don't worry, I'll only share pics if people are interested ;)

My cousin had two frank breech babies and she said she did all the spinningbabies movements and and even the ECV with no results. She did some research online and this was suggested as something to "encourage" the baby to move (they are attracted to the light). She actually got her DS to flip the day before her c-section.

I only had the light to my belly for 10 seconds before he started flipping out. Maybe it's luck, maybe it actually works, but I'll do anything to get him off my lungs lol
