SBR - Order a butterbeer at SBUX!

Here's the "recipe".  (You will have to read the recipe to the barista... it isn't an official SBUX drink)

  • OMG that is all syrup. It has to be a zillion (delicious) calories.

  • I'm afraid to order anything custom at Starbucks.  Most of my baristas have a hard enough time making a proper PSL or Creme Brulee Latte.  If I give special instructions, I'm afraid I'll get a cloying mess of artificial sweetener.

  • I need to do this!! I can't wait to go to sbux now.

  • I tried the hot version today, and all I can say is meh.

    Plus, a grande is $5.

    I'll stick with PSL.

  • It was pretty close to butterbeer, I was actually impressed, but it wasn't spot on.  SO it's definitely tasty and it's close enough.  I'll probably order it again!

  • I never got to sbux but I might have to make an exception...

  • I tried the cold butterbeer yesterday and though it tasted okay, it was more like a butterbeer frappuccino than a straight up butterbeer.  I don't think I would get it again.  BUT, it was still fun to play Harry Potter and I had a Starbucks groupon burning a hole in my pocket anyways.  Now I'm inspired to try to recreate butterbeer at home.

Me too... but only because I'm afraid that I won't use the right lingo!

It took me a long time to feel comfortable saying, "Grande Caramel Frapp. Light - double blend"  lol!

We have a SBUX right by the office so I may go with a couple coworkers during a lighter traffic hour & hand them the recipe!  :)

  • OMG that Starbucks Secret Menu website has an orange creamsicle frappachino.  I may have just gained 20 pounds.

This is exactly what I did.  Not for my fear of them screwing up, but for my lack of being able to remember the exact ingredients.

I purposely don't use their lingo. No one is getting me to say Grande. I don't even care.

Me too! I just ask for medium. One time the barista was like "You mean grande?". She got the raised eyebrow look from me and a "Yeah, a medium." reply back.

I purposely avoid their. I just order an espresso. Half the time they look at me like I have two heads. And then I end up with an espresso served to me in a 16oz cup.  X_X

One time when I actually got the little cardboard espresso cup with the Starbucks logo on it on the way to a conference, everyone was looking at it and kept asking (genuinely curious), "What did you order?!" "Umm... an espresso?"
