gender: did you have a sense?

I was talking to a friend last night and she asked me if I had any idea what the baby might be. I told her I had no idea at all, and asked her how the heck you could really have an idea one way or the other at this point.

she said she knew she was having a baby girl and was right. and she said one of her other friends always just had a feeling their baby was going to be a boy, and she was spot on.

so for those of you who found of the gender of your LO, did you have a sense before you went for you a/s or the baby was born?

Re: gender: did you have a sense?

  • I always had a sense I would have a girl. That was just my intuition. Somebody swayed me in the other direction though, so at one point I kept saying I was having a boy. Come to find out I was right originally.I can't remember when I started feeling that way, but I would say it was closer to the end of the 1st trimester.

  • Nope.  I didn't have a feeling either way.  DH and I both kept accidentally saying "he" because we were hoping for a boy.  Needless to say, we assumed it'd be a girl because we kept falling into "he".  Most everyone we asked said they thought baby was a boy.  Hearing it's a boy...it's still hard to believe!

We were team green both times and up until delivery I was sure Delilah was a boy. Obviously I was wrong. Then my second pregnancy was so similar I thought for sure it'd be another girl. I was wrong again. IMO anyone that says they just knew, really just guessed right.

  • We were team green and I had no feeling at all. Since having Ava Nichol I have had a feeling about 3 pregnancies and have been right each time. But there have also been plenty of pregnancies around me where I had no idea.

  • I just knew DS was going to be a boy. I would have been floored if we had a girl (we were team green). This time, I am convinced we are having a girl.

  • So far I don't really have any idea as to gender. We are hoping for a boy but will be happy with a healthy baby either way.

  • With my first we were team green and I knew from the time I peed on a stick that it was a boy. I was right!

With my second we found out and I had fleeting thoughts it could be a girl but had the boy feeling all the way through. He's a boy!

With this one I thought boy and was almost cocky about it. Early ultrasounds show girl!!

  • I don't think I had an actual sense, but whenever (even before I was PG) I pictured my future life, I always imagined boys.  Also, the day before my US, I went to BRU for the first time to look for maternity clothes.  For some reason, I browsed through the boys clothes and was just drawn to them and did not even look at the girls clothes.

I *knew* that one of the babies would be a boy, but I didn't have a feeling whether the second would be a boy or girl!

  • I was pretty convinced this baby would be a boy, but in my head (and even in dreams) I would refer to her as "she." I'm not sure why, though, but I suspect it was because I was second guessing my "intuition" of boy.... so... yeah, I don't trust my instinct when it comes to the sex of babies anymore... lol

  • With our first, no.  I hoped it was a girl, but I didn't have a feeling.  It was a girl.  This time, I didn't know if I was just preparing myself that it might be a boy (because I still wanted a girl after losing her), or if I really felt like it was a boy.  I was not surprised when she said it was a boy (though my first words were "oh shit!"
