QOTD 11/13

Re: QOTD 11/13

  • eeek!  you got me.  I always forget, unless I have a dentist appt coming up, then I do it for like a week.  I am trying to get better at grown up stuff like flossing, picking my clothes up off the floor, and generally not being a hot mess.

  • nope.  never.  my parents never did, so I never had to growing up.  the dentist always tells me that I should (obviously, lol) but...sigh

  • I'm slowly getting better at this!  I really need to be doing it on the regular because I have horrible teeth and really need to do it in order to not get cavities.

  • Only if there is something stuck between my teeth or if I'm within a week of going to the dentist.  I've been pretty lucky when it comes to teeth though, I'm nervous for when I get my first cavity..

Pretty much this exactly! Although, I got my first cavity 2 years ago...I was so traumatized! I went to a new dentist and it was the very last tooth that she checked. That's what I get for not having dental insurance and skipping out on going to the dentist for a few years!

  • I try to but often forget. If I do it's at night, and I floss a lot before the dentist. She always tells me what nice teeth I have! I flipped out when I got my first, and only, cavity. The dentist was like whats' the big deal, it's just a cavity, everyone gets them and I flipped out and said "not me!!!" She thinks that's funny...I have an awesome dentist!

  • I've been doing better.  I've been keeping some of the floss glides in my purse to use when I get something in my teeth.  If no one is in the bathroom, ill just do the rest of them.

  • YES! I never used to and then ended up with gum recession and had to have two surgeries to have gum removed from the top of my mouth and sewn to the top left and bottom right to fill in where there was recession. This was all cause from not flossing, brushing too hard and breathing problems when I was younger (I was a mouth breather). Not fun at all!!

  • Yes but not regularly at all!

  • Occasionally...bad, I know.
  • Almost every night. I have permanent retainers on the back of my teeth so it's really awful when food gets caught in them.

  • I used to be so good.  I would floss every day/every other day.  H would refuse.  He had a problem the last time we went for a cleaning and began to floss every day.  I now floss every like 3 weeks...

We're due for a cleaning next month.  I figure it's a wash now, I'll start again after I get my teeth cleaned.  I do rinse with Listerine every morning though.  The bottle says it's just as effective as flossing, although I think they mean when you floss also.
  • I don't but need too! At my last dentist visit I had a bunch of small cavities in between my teeth. I asked how they happen and his first question was "do you floss?"
  • @sjs1013 - it's not a wash! if you start being good now for like 3 weeks you wont bleed at the dentist and have that awkward conversation of "well, you did poke me with a sharp piece of metal, how am i supposed to not bleed!, hehe....ok i'll floss" haha

Thanks @linnae939!  I'll start tonight due to your encouragement :)  I'll let you know how my gums do when I get my cleaning.
