Is a stroller a must for Disney?

Ok, Disney experts.....I have noticed many of you have recently made a trip to WDW. My twins haven't been in a stroller for 2 years. Is a stroller a must for two almost 5 year olds (they'll be 5 in a little over two months)? We're leaving in a few weeks and I am going back and forth on this one!

We didn't take one when we went in the spring (EJ was 5) and only occasionally did I wish we had one. It was around the time it was so hot and she wanted held. She was capable of walking but when we waited in line she liked being up, and to be honest it made it easier to talk to her. She was on my back frequently. However she is a clingly little monkey and an only child. Also, she doesn't nap and hasn't for a long time. SO I wasn't worried about needing a place for her to crash mid day.

We went Sept 2012 when DD was a little over 3 1/2. I wasn't going to take ours and just rent if needed. DH thought we should take. It was a godsend in airport. And I was glad to have in the park too. We were there in Sept and it was HOT. So everyone got drained from the heat. You could always not take and then rent if you feel you need.

We rented a double stroller for my 5 & 2 year old boys...the 5 year old hasn't used a stroller in years, but used it more than the 2 year old at disney! It's a LOT of walking, my legs were just done by the end of the day, I can only imagine how his would have felt if he had to walk all day.

Thanks for the responses ladies! Maybe renting one at the park may be the best way to go. I am hesitant to take ours because I am flying alone with the kids (DH will already be in Orlando for work) and I am trying to limit the amount I have to worry about and hold on to after curb side check in! If I have to carry a kid too much I will end up miserable too! :-S

we rented a city mini double from Apple Strollers; the total was about $60 for 7 days and that included a parent console/cupholder and a rain cover. they delivered to the resort and picked it up on our last day.

My response would be heck yes - I think my 7 yr old would love to sit in a stroller at Disney - esp, if its hot. The 5 yr old, absolutely. As for the airport - as long as you can keep them in line with security etc.. then stroller not needed but if you can't it may be better to pop them in it while you put all your gear in the bottom so you aren't juggling bags & kids by yourself. Remember you gate check it so you can have it right off the plane.
