anybody read Sisterland by Curtis Sittenfeld?

I keep carrying it with me with the intention of starting it but for some reason I have no desire to start it. I don't know if it's just because I know that The Name of the Wind is sitting on the reserve shelf at the library waiting for me, or if it's just because I really have no interest in Sisterland.

I'd love to hear what some other people thought of this book so I know whether or not I should bother.

Re: anybody read Sisterland by Curtis Sittenfeld?

  • I liked it, but I didn't love it like her other books. 3.5 stars for me. I t was a very slow build, not a lot of plot, and the sisters aren't really all that likable. It took a very different turn than I thought, and the second half was a lot better than the first. Not what I expected, but it was a fast and entertaining read. I haven't read The Name of the Wind, but I have a feeling that you'll enjoy that a lot more than Sisterland.
  • All I saw in your post was, "The Name of The Wind is sitting on the reserve shelf waiting for me".

    Run to your Library.

  • Lol!  I won't get there until tomorrow or Sunday. I started Eleanor & Park in the meantime.
