Glow - Ovulation and fertility tracker

Hey ladies!

I know many of you are using ff to track your cycles and whatnot, but someone recommended this other app called Glow and I just downloaded it to my phone this morning.....it's a free app and so far seems to be quite good. I'm going to mess around with it a bit later on when I have more time to do so, but what I've seen so far, I like. The cool thing about this app is that it also gets your partner more involved in the process too....

Not sure if anyone here has used this app or has even heard of it, but figured I'd at least pass the recommendation along....

Re: Glow - Ovulation and fertility tracker

  • FF's app is free, too, and I trust their extensive research and algorithms that go into all their charting software. If I were going to try this new one out, I'd recommend double tracking, both with the new app and with FF. It's the only way to really see how accurate the new one might be (most other free phone apps for charting cycles are jokes).

Glow is interesting to me. If I were just starting out I'd probably give it a try. I haven't read too many of the specifics about the money towards IF treatments but that has the potential to be worthwhile to some people as well.

ETA: I should also mention that this has only been around since May of this year, so it'll be interesting to see how it develops (including Glow First).

  • Yes, I realize that FF is free too - but then if you want any additional features with them, you have to pay for it. This app seems to be 100% free and from the initial poking around on it, it looks like you can have the data you enter emailed to you as a pdf, which I imagine would be very useful. Plus, you can have your partner install the app and be linked to you, so it gives them extra involvement in the process. Other little features too, but have to wait until after work now to check those out....

I agree about some of the other apps....there's so many to choose from, most of which suck, but the person who recommended this particular one to me actually stopped using FF after using this one the last few cycles citing better functionality and features. I suppose it's a matter of personal preference and was just putting it out there in case anyone was looking for an alternative (and 100% free) option.

I did see the other thing too about the Glow First program...curious to see how that works out for this company....

Isn't this the one that has sort of "fertility insurance" - where you can pay $50/mo for 12 months, and if you're not pregnant they'll pay for an IUI/IVF cycle?

ETA: and I missed that Looney said this, too. Oops!

  • I just downloaded it. I'm going to give it a try alongside FF. I like the idea that it gets DH involved too.

  • Just looked this up. It sounds pretty nifty. I'd download it if I had an iPhone.. hopefully there will be an Android version soon! Let me know how it is.

  • Ohhhh....there's no android version? That sucks :/

So far, so good...still waiting for hubby to install it though....he has to update his phone to the new OSX before he can install the app. He's a slacker lol
  • I've already deleted it. I didn't like it. It just didn't do it for me. Cute design though.
