Duplicate post from the board because I know not everyone is on both FB and TN...
I got my results back from my 24 hour urine collection and my protein is high (slightly high according to the nurse), so I have to do another one. I know that HBP combined with a high level of protein in your urine is indicative of having pre-e. I do have an appointment a week from tomorrow, at which they're going to give me my lovely jug and tell me more. However, I'm impatient.
Can anyone tell me more about this? My mom had it, but it was 29 years ago and she was undiagnosed until the very end of pregnancy and ended up with an emergency induction a month early. So, needless to say, I want a scenario other than hers. I searched the internet, but that was a bad idea and now I'm freaking out.
Plus, the baby is still transverse. I know this because it's currently kicking me in the diaphragm and has been all day. So, that's a whole other issue that is potentially going to result in a c-section.
Thanks ladies. You all are wonderful!
Re: high protein levels (dup from FB) I'm only slightly neurotic over this.
My doctor was concerned about pre-e with me but it was because I had high blood pressure towards the end of my pregnancy. I never had protein in my urine.
Because of the high blood pressure, I was induced at 37 weeks. Blood pressure started being elevated at 36 weeks.
I don't have much advice but just try your best not to freak out. Your doctor and nurses will be keeping an extra close eye on you and doing everything they can to make sure you have the best delivery options you are able to. You are in good hands and they will take care of you!
And stay away from Dr. Google. : )
