FFing Moms - Hospital Question

My BFF that had her babies here said that our hospital doesn't have bottles or formula. What did you bring with you if you planned to FF from the beginning?
Congrats to my TTC buddy Madeline! Cheering for all the strong 3T ladies!

Re: FFing Moms - Hospital Question

  • Ours had formula for us, but maybe bring the ready to feed bottles with you since it's got formula and the bottle prepackaged.

  • are you going to do a tour of the hospital? if so, i would inquire about it then. ours had nursettes to give to the baby. i know the state of NY is trying to put a lock down on FF'ing and making it harder to obtain the formula (don't get me started on this topic) but otherwise it should be fine. they asked me when they admitted me what we were doing then asked what kind of formula. they had welcome gifts from similac and enfamil to give to the mom's. i would just find out beforehand if they are going to have what you need. if they don't, then i would bring bottles and formula. or i might just buy a case or two of nursettes.
Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!

  • I have never heard of anyone around here doing a hospital tour. I'll have to ask about that!

  • Ours had formula with the premade kind and nipples you just screwed on top but I wanted to use our bottles right away. I brought 2 small (4oz) bottles. I used Playtex dropins so I brought a sleeve of the 4oz drop ins. I also brought a can of formula just in case. You may also need water to mix the formula with. I always used nursery water or Gerber Baby water I think.

  • Also, I got a free sample of the newborn formula so I wanted to use that but her pedi said it is fine to start out right away with the infant formula.

  • Ditto CCH.

When I went in to have DS, they asked us what our feeding preference was.
