Thanksgiving Recipes!

(posted this on "whats Cooking?" too)

Thats Right I said it! Thanksgiving is Coming up, what are your favorite recipes or family recipes/Traditions?

This is our first Holiday back from living 14hours away from family so My H and I are very excited to see everyone. We are even having his parents over ON Thanksgiving! (obviously excited) This year My side of the family is having a Best pie contest and my Grandfather will be the judge. I Plan on making a Peanut Butter pie (Graham Crust or OREO, Peanut Butter, Cream Cheese, Powdered Sugar, and melted Chocolate.)

Look forward to hearing for you.

Re: Thanksgiving Recipes!

  • Yum! That pie sounds good. The best parts of Thanksgiving to me are the all the things that AREN'T the turkey.

My younger cousin makes a mean blueberry cheesecake pie (yes, somehow she combines these things into one gooey, sweet, delicious dessert with a graham cracker crust) but she's mum on the exact recipe. Her secret, and while I'm super jealous I can respect that.

Her mother also makes a crab dip that's out of this world. Pile it on crackers and if you're not careful, you'll be full long before dinner is served.

My grandmother was a Nebraska farm girl, so one of her specialties was green beans with almond slivers and big chunks of bacon thrown in. With lots of butter, of course, as God intended. :)
  • I make brussels sprout hash and it's my H's favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving aside from the stuffing.
